Important Italian Port in East Italy area. Access to Greece and other important European Cities by ferry. Commercial and Military Port. A sight for your eyes. If you want great views visit the Seeport Hotel and bring your camera.

Very old port, which has been used many centuries ago. Deep enough for large vessels, both ferries and cargo ships. It is recommended to go up (using elevator) to the Cathedral, where you can enjoy overview.

garbage of any kind on the sides of the road, bad smell, poor lights on the road to help traveler. We asked few people for information -including a police officer- but nobody seems to understand English there. An information desk would be very helpful.

Busiest day of the year. Check in for Ancona - Patras with Superfast. Only three checkin desks open out of seven. One hour queueing and still nowhere near! No air-con in the hall. Useless, hopeless! Go with Minoan is my suggestion.

So... We boarded the Anek ferry departing Ancona, Italy bound for Greece! Once on board the ferry, that was all good, but what a melée getting TO the boat. Mind you, we're not newbies to car ferries. They are a mixed blessing at best, but...More

It's a classical caotic port 30 minutes on foot from the railway station, or 5 minutes by city bus. Have a look to the big ships leaving to Greece.

I was in the port for a few hours, so had a chance to view it a bit. The city port (for passengers) and the industrial port is all together, which is a little messy. It's a really large port and very industrial looking. All...More
