Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Overlooking the sea, the Cardeto Park extends over a vast expanse and is close to the centre of Ancona. Apparently it is the largest urban park in the city and has lots of fantastic greenery all around. Amongst all this are other places of great historical value such as the Museo Diffuso Urbano, the Campo degli Ebrei, the Campo degli Inglesi, the Bastione di San Paolo of the '500, the Castelfidardo Powder Magazine, the Forte Cardeto, the Old Lighthouse and the former Villarey Barracks. My wife and I made the significant trek up to the park and greatly enjoyed the views when arriving at the top.

The Parco del Cardeto is a very unique Parc, in the way that it's not a historical parc, but many different types of areas that are now combined in a very exciting, intersting part. In the parc you can come along
- an old jewish cemetry, which is really beautifull
- great views on the city of ancona and the sea
- historical gardens, buildings and party of the city wall (roman, medieval...)
- very natural parts of the parc, with trees and plants, almost foresty
- formerly industrial or military used areas
- and, most unique, three different types of lighthouses - one very old one that's not in use anymore, one military-looking and although abandoned one and the currently used one
We visited the Parc on a very sunny day and it was great to walk around in it and reöax in the sun. The Parc is not a classic parc to play on large fields or stuff like that, it is more a good walking experience. It is not always easy t find the entrances, you should use a map form the Tourist Information (which also can give you background Information about the parc).

You can easily enter the park walking behind the hospital or on the right side of Villa Rey, the Ancona college for economics.
After climbing few turns you are completely isolated... with on your side the Adriatic see, in front of you the ancient Lighthouse and, after a 15 minute walk the center of Ancona at your feet.
During the nice walk there are many interesting historical site to visit: the Jewish cemetery, the old lighthouse and, coming back to downtown, the San Ciriaco church and many roman ruins, among them and amphitheater.

Expecting a park with views of the coastline or the city, we were quite disappointed. Not well maintained, unreadable signposts, meandering paths through woods and abandoned military buildings - at least the eastern portion of the park is more for walking your dog or jogging than for tourists. The western part around the lighthouse promises to have better views, but we haven’t had time to explore.

A curiously remote park given it's location in the heart of Ancona. You are above all the main landmarks and get views of the coastline, churches and the shipyard and port. Very few people climb up here so you may well find yourself on your own. It may be the recession but some of the paths and monuments need TLC and graffiti is becoming widespread. Worth a visit though

From memory there are four entrances/exits to this park but do find at least one so you can enjoy some superb views. It also contains some historic buildings which are described on boards, a historic lighthouse and a military section.

Undervisited park along the seafront in Ancona. Some interesting sites such as old lighthouse and Jewish cemetery. A bit shabby, however, and poorly maintained, like many public attractions in Italy.

On the hottest day ever in Italy we decided to climb this wonderful park. Maybe not the best idea but we actually do not regret it. The scenery is breath-taking and we could find enough shade to protect us from the glaring sun. There seems to be a Jewish graveyard but this was sadly not accessible. Not sure if it ever is. Also an English cemetery, closed as well. I would recommend this park very much just to get away from the busy city. It was surprisingly quiet up there !

I found steps on Via Birarelli Giuseppe that lead to an interesting gate, so went up. Discovered the steps led to this park. At first, I wasn't sure if it was private land or a public park. I kept waiting for a camera crew to appear and find they were filming a murder mystery in the park. It had that feel to the place. Needless to say, I didn't stay long. However, there were good views back down over the city toward the port.

A lovely park that crosses the town from one side to the other.
It is more like a forest in certain parts. Breathtaking view of the sea.

Ciao, non ho visto cartelli di divieto, penso che puoi andare, l'importante come sempre è la buona educazione di raccogliere gli eventuali "depositi" del tuo amico ;-)
