A beautiful sculpture, but kept behind glass and always crowded. Worth a view for sure, but if you want to see another Michelangelo sculpture up close with no glass, visit San Pietro in Vincoli church near the Colosseum to see “Moses.”

Just take time and stand there and absorb it. It has all this build up and you think just how can it create all those feelings in so many people and then there you are.

This stunning and elegant sculpture by Michaelangelo stands behind bulletproof glass within St Peter's Basilica. It was carved from a single piece of Carrara marble and considered by many to be his greatest work.

Visited while in St Peter's Chapel. It's as shame they had to place it behind glass to keep the crazy people from destroying it.
