Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We returned, having studied a little before visiting it and having more information on this important and famous church.
The Basilica, located on the southern outskirts of the city, stands at the highest point of the EUR district (Universal Exhibition of Rome).
The project (1938) was by the architect Arnaldo Foschini, but the works, interrupted several times due to the second world war, resumed in 1953 and were completed only in 1955. The Basilica is accessed via a large ramp, which connects the churchyard to the Viale Europa below, at the end of which there are two monumental statues, in travertine, depicting, on the left, St. Pteter (1957) by Domenico Ponzi, and, on the right, St. Paul (1943) by Francesco Nagni.
The church's piazza is flanked by an identical pair of long arcaded pavilions.
It was conceived as a visual landmark and religious emblem of the EUR district.
The Greek cross plan, very unusual in Roman churches, has four pylon niches contains vertical, rectangular coffering on its wall surfaces: six coffers high, two wide at the sides and four wide at the back. The last surround a large square sculptural relief panel. The coffers contain reliefs of Eucharistic symbols by Francesco Coccia.
The hemispherical dome, in reinforced concrete, rests on a circular drum opened by eight oculi and is covered in hexagonal slate tiles. On the cusp of the lantern, at the top of the dome, there is a bronze sculpture depicting an angel (mid-20th century) by Carmelo Abate.
The bare interior, which stands out for the balance of the spaces, is dominated by the dome decorated with motifs of crosses and panels in stucco relief, and on the drum with marble reliefs of the Evangelists: St. Matthew and St. John ( mid-20th century), by Enrico Castelli;
St. Mark and St. Luke (1940) by Francesco Coccia.
In the presbytery, on the main altar, there is a crucified Jesus (1942), in bronze by Giuseppe Graziosi: the sculpture is one of the artist's last works, which was cast by his wife after his death.
On the back wall, there is Jesus Christ on the throne (1966), in marble, by Attilio Selva: the work is inserted in a mosaic, created by his son Sergio, which depicts the Martyrdom and glory of Saint Peter and Saint Paul.
on the sides.
On both sides there are two ambos (mid-20th century), in bronze by Duilio Cambellotti with high reliefs depicting:on the left, "Stories of the preaching of Saint Peter"; on the right, "Stories of the preaching of Saint Paul".
In the two side arms of the church there are two chapels.
On the left, in the chapel dedicated to the Immaculate Conception, there is a mosaic with the Madonna with Child among angels (mid 20th century), by Bruno Saetti and a statue of the Immaculate Conception (1958), in carved wood by Ferdinad Stuflesser.
On the right, in the chapel dedicated to St. Francis of Assisi, there is a mosaic with St. Francis of Assisi and Franciscan saints (mid-20th century) by Janos Hajnal.
On the right side of the nave there is an interesting room: the baptistery, decorated with mosaics and marble, created by Sergio Selva, in which you can see, on the baptismal font, a sculptural group with the Baptism of Jesus Christ (1940), in bronze, by Andrea Spadini.
In addition to the monumental setting, ithe basilica is characterized, in fact, also by the harmonious composition and purity of the volumes and fits perfectly into the context of the district designed for the 1942 Universal Exhibition of Rome, which never took place due to the outbreak of the Second World War world.
Higly recommended.
