We had the pleasure of touring the Vatican with Thomas Robinson and I can't say enough good things. His in depth knowledge made our experience that much more amazing. Our family, being very interested in the history, asked a million questions and he had an answer for them all. Highly recommend him!

John Martin was a great guide for our tour of the Palantine Hill, Roman Forum, and Colosseum. Wish we had more time with him. Enthusiastic, knows a ton, and generous. One of the highlights of our trip, for sure!

First the hard part - it's a five hour tour with some serious wlaking for us sixty year olds. However the sights and information sharing was awesome! This was our first group tour and I recommend this tour for all! If exploring some history is a big part of your Rome trip this will fulfill your expectiotions. Federico was our... More

Us four adults met our guide Guia at our hotel near Roma Termini Station in the early morning and off we went for our aggressive full one day walking tour of Rome. A couple of times we took the metro briefly but only to get to the Coliseum/Forum area and then to the Vatican. We walked, walked, walked to other... More

My husband Nigel and I decided to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary by taking a trip to Rome, and on the day its self, (the 12th of May) an eagerly awaited visit to the Collosseum, Palatine Hill and the Roman Forum. We booked our tour with Through Eternity Tours. Our tour guide was archaeologist Luca. With his in depth knowledge... More

We did a 5 hour walking tour of the Colosseum Underground (Plus Third Tier), Roman Forum & Palatine Hill. I'll admit my fiance and I were a bit hesitant about a 5 hour tour but we are SO glad we went. Our tour guide Kathy was amazing! She did an incredible job of weaving all the different time periods into... More

We took the VIP Colosseum Underground , Third Tier,Roman Forum and Palatine Hill tour. It was expensive but worth every penny as you get to see the places that regular tours don't take you and you don't wait in the very long lines. Katarina and John, our tour guides, were excellent. They were so knowledgeable and informative. It is a... More

We toured with Caterina through the Forum and Palatine Hill for 3 hours. Caterina was a fantastic guide -- very informative and natural in her delivery of history. While you can book a tour with a larger group, I would absolutely recommend going with a private tour. Well done, Through Eternity tours!

I took 2 tours with this company in the past week: Domus Aurea and Underground Rome (not the colosseum). Both were superb and I'm a professional art historian, so I'm a pretty tough judge. :-))

We had both a small group tour and a private tour with Eternity tours in Rome. Our guide was Gracelyn Monaco. She was outstanding. She is originally from New York City, but moved to Italy 11 years ago. She has an excellent knowledge of Rome's rich cultural history. I would request Gracelyn for any tours in Rome.

Staying in Piazza Venezia / Ancient City

Neighbourhood Profile
Piazza Venezia / Ancient City
If all roads lead to Rome, then they all end here. Piazza Venezia and the Ancient City are the very epicenter of the Eternal City. Within a 360-degree turn, Roman history unrolls in front of you, from its ancient beginnings to its 21st century transformations. Whether it’s those historical playgrounds known as the Roman and Imperial Forums, or the side-street shops, trattorie, and churches, this neighbourhood packs a cultural punch and then some. Screaming scooters, battling buses, crazy cars, and lots of foot traffic converge in the area all day long. By dusk, a different vibe emerges as the neighbourhood quiets down. Don't be surprised if you find yourself passing through the Piazza Venezia at least once a day, since it’s the most direct way to get from one side of town to another.
