Great place to go for produce, (excellent sandwiches: Mordi & Vai), dried fruit, but also flowers, and household supplies. The neighborhood is an interesting, non-gentrified place, and it brings an authentic feel to the market. An easy walk from Trastevere.

I love markets and this was a good one. While Campo del Fiori gets all the press, and is in a more scenic spot, this one is where locals go. First rate produce, meats and fish and killer street food.

At 8 am not all shops are already open. But you can already start browsing the shops that offer variety of goods. Fresh produce, home decor, flowers, clothing and more. Clean and nice atmosphere.

We went specifically for the sandwiches at Cucina Romanesco which were good but far from delicious or memorable. The market has a bit of everything; bakeries, butchers, cheese, clothes stalls etc. If you grab a bite there are seats and tables outside. As far as...More

Had some delicious pasta sitting on the tables area, market is nice but my visit and lunch were ruined by the dozens of pigeons owning the area. Disgusting.

If you love food and have "tourist site" overload, then come to this market and try all the different offerings of "street food" and wonderful "deli" stalls! Although there are plenty of tours that visit here and it is a mix of locals and tourists,...More

Put the house music on replay and you have Testaccio,
an ancient Roman port and former working class
neighbourhood where the bass is set to high almost
every night of the week. Its collection of discoteche
(nightclubs), street parties, and crowded restaurants
give it its well-deserved party reputation. During the
daytime, Testaccio is more easy listening than club
hit, the area is full of locally owned small

Hello, Because 26 December is a considered a holiday, I don’t think the market will be open. I’d go to the website to check but I doubt it as much will be closed here in Rome. Enjoy your trip!

Perhaps the fastest and simplest way is the metro. It's only a few stops on blue line. Get off at Piramide.

If you prefer the scenic route ride any of the buses headed down the Tiber towards Piramide and walk from there.
