Hilarious that this is so highly rated. We didn’t know beforehand that the view is only accessible thru a 1” circular keyhole in the outer door from the road.

a must see ; from there you can walk and see the parc of organges and in 15 min walk you are at the bocca della verita' and 20 min from the town hall; really a special place that not all know;

Didn't know what to expect but after a bit of a walk, we climbed a not too steep a hill to find people queueing in front of a building/door. When you look through the keyhole you see a fantastic view of St. Peter's basilica through...More

Staying on Aventine Hill, we would have missed this incredible site had it not been for our day-tour guide. WOW. Strongly recommend ! The fore--thought of the site, planning and execution is mind boggling. Especially given when it was created !

We headed here on the day we arrived, early in the evening. There was a small queue, which grew quickly behind us. Probably about a 20 minute wait, but well worth it. The view of St Peters Basilica is truly stunning. Difficult to get a...More

I wanted to take the "photo" of St. Peters Basilica through the keyhole. We walked there from the Non Protestant cemetery. It is in a lovely area on the Aventine Hill. Once we reached the small piazza, there was a fairly long queue which we...More

Our night tour or Rome( which in and of itself is a MUST) ended with a visit to the KeyHole of Rome. It was 10;o’clock at night and there wasn’t a soul there and we had no idea why we were there. One by one...More

I never knew about the "key hole" until our tour guide brought us to it one day after the colosseum. When I went it was a Sunday so the line was only a few people long. When it was my turn to look through the...More

Many say that the place is way too overestimated due to the big line and the short, in time, view. But trust me on this one, you don't get to see a two states (Rome & Vatican) view, through a door lock every day. It...More

Contrary to the chaos of the city, the Aventine is
Rome’s oasis. A neighbourhood made up of a patchwork
of ancient churches, hidden gardens, private homes and
embassies, peace and quiet is top priority and the
vibe definitely friends and family. Take a walk around
the Aventine and you’ll find a treasure hunt of
surprises like the clever little keyhole at the
Knights of Malta entrance (the only place you’ll find

No visits to the garden are allowed. I would also have liked to visit. But go down the road Santa Sabina towards Circus Maximus. Just next to the Basicila di Santa Sabina is the Garden of Oranges. There is a panoramic view... More

Also unclear as to question.... It's probably MUCH too long a walk from Piazza Navona. It wouldn't be so far from Circo Massimo / Circus Maximus, though. Maybe you should consult a map. ;) Did you know that Google Maps can... More
