One of the most and best decorated churches, notwithstanding the fact that it has the oldest origin of any church in Rome.

Most uninspiring exterior but what a treat inside, the gold just glows in the sunlight. The church is quiet and there is good light for your photographs

Just an amazing place, particularly the early-church Latin inscriptions in the foyer. Do not miss this place.

A beautiful Basilica in the middle of Trastevere. The floor is absolutely beautiful as are the ceiling tiles as well as paintings.

Tucked away in trastevere a area of Rome where normal Romans live. This church is worth the time to find and visit, siturated in a square full of resturants used by locals.

Small and beautiful church, in the heart of the Trastevere district, beautiful interiors, charming atmosphere, brings you back in time

I know there are hundreds of churches in Rome but this one is the most peaceful and beautiful. Could of spent hours here so peaceful and historic.

Of course isn't in the category of the Vatican but this is not to be missed. It is a most beautiful church but so much more. The art is not to be missed and the setting so peaceful that I could have spent hours here.

This is a very beautiful spiritual place, and although the Church is very busy it is also very quiet. we arrived as we had followed the rick steves self guided tour of Trastevere district

there is a very personal momentum, that connects me with this church - sorry: basilica. it was, where I decided to marry my wife, now 25 years to be (obviously a good decision) As much as I would describe Trastevere itself Rome for beginners and...More

Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded
postcard, a little worn around the edges but still
charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering
streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and
overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible
mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of
entertainment - a rotating set of street performers
entertains almost every night, and unforgettable
