This is unique Gothic church in Rome not far from Pantheon. When you compare architecture with Gothic churches in northern Italy, it is nothing special. Main attraction in the church is Michelangelo’s sculpture, a marble Christ. For minor works you need a guide for explanation....More

This small area of Rome is full with must see spots. Santa Maria Sopra Minerva is in the area of the Pantheon. The church is full of beautiful art but so simple from the outside. Make sure you give yourself enough time to see this...More

Once you get below St Peters there are great churches to see; but I suggest the S Maria Sopra Minerva because it is of very high social, artistic, and historical interest, it is lovely, and you can tie it into a visit with the Pantheon...More

One of the few churches in Rome to maintain its Gothic heritage on show (others have covered it up with later styles), this one is filled with art as well as famous tombs. Saint Catherine of Siena is buried here (except for her head which...More

Hidden behind the Pantheon, this beautiful church is the home of one of the lesser known Michelangelo sculptures of Christ. Bonus is the beautiful Bernini elephant outside. Amazing how the churches in Rome are free and are like visiting a museum.

St Catherine's burial tomb is this church. It's the only Gothic church in Rome. It's very near the Pantheon (makes it easy to do in a single short trip). Very beautiful sculptures and paintings.

Navona / Pantheon / Campo de’ Fiori
With three of Rome’s most beloved piazzas within a
five-minute walk of each other, the
Navona/Pantheon/Campo area may be the prettiest and
most picturesque area of the city. Join the beautiful
throngs hanging out in cafes, boutiques, art
galleries, and wine bars, or peek at a neighbourhood
museum or monument. If you want nonstop movida, the
streets here are busy with chic bicyclists and Vespa
