Just one block south, behind the Pantheon, along Via della Minerva, the entrance of the basilica is marked by the famous elephant sculpture by Bernini and Ercole Ferrata, which makes the base for one of Rome's eleven Egyptian obelisks. Inside, among many treasures, visitors find...More

Santa Maria Sopra Minerva is only a few steps away from the Pantheon, so you might like to visit it if you are in the area. It is a church with some history and it was built on the ruins of an ancient temple, probably...More

Just behind the Pantheon, this is a delightful little treat. From street level, it is about as unassuming as you can get, but once you step inside, it's like another world. This church houses the tomb of St. Catherine of Siena and is a gothic...More

If you are going to the Pantheon, see this also. It is a very beautiful church, though it looks very very ordinary from outside. It was for a long time the headquarters of the Dominicans, a famous and powerful order of clergy. There is an...More

Near the beautiful Basilica S. Andrea Della Valle, Padri Teatini, the S Maria sopra Minerva church, the only Gothic church in Rome, is deceiving from the outside because it doesn't begin to tell the story of the glorious inside. Located in the Piazza della Minerva,...More

With the many thousands of people each day visiting the Pantheon it is surprising how few take the time to visit this gem just behind it. The church has historic interest as well as great art. The church sat as the seat of the Inquisition....More

I love this church. The ceiling is stunning. It is hard to describe its beauty. It has a starred design with ornate paintings.

Navona / Pantheon / Campo de’ Fiori
With three of Rome’s most beloved piazzas within a
five-minute walk of each other, the
Navona/Pantheon/Campo area may be the prettiest and
most picturesque area of the city. Join the beautiful
throngs hanging out in cafes, boutiques, art
galleries, and wine bars, or peek at a neighbourhood
museum or monument. If you want nonstop movida, the
streets here are busy with chic bicyclists and Vespa
