Jobe is a great tour guide. The under the sun tour is definitely worth doing. You get a great orientation and introduction to Rome , plus some great anecdotal history , finishing with a great visit by train to a near by village ( Mirano ???) for a wonderful meal and some wine at a family run restaurant. Jobe was... More

We booked a Vatican tour with Eddie's fun after reading several good reviews of this company. We were told that the tour would in fact be led by another company - City Lights - and we wrongly imagined that this company bore an Eddie's Fun "stamp of approval" and it too would be child-friendly. It was not. Our guide was... More

Jobe was a great guide. We did the "Under the Roman Sun" tour. A couple of hours of sightseeing and history then a train trip out to a Lazio village for fantastic pasta - about the perfect balance for the children (13 and 11) and never boring.

These guys know how to guide! They make history and art fun and accessible, plus they appeal to kids as well as adults. They can do quick and witty, but if you probe then they know their stuff. We met Jobe at the Pantheon and loved his tour. The next day he took us and our three young boys for... More

We had been to Rome before but it was our daughter's first time. Wehad purchased Roma passes, but there was still a line to enter the Colosseum. We were approached by an American girl who told us we could skip the line if we purchased a tour for 12E since we already had Roma passes. We decided to take a... More

We found this tour group by chance. We were approached by James while visiting he pantheon. He offered a 10 euro tour for the pantheon and surrounding area. We were skeptical at first but Bruno did a great job. He did such a great job that we ended up booking another tour with them. We did the food and wine... More

Two words to describe my experience of Eddie's service - customisable and friendly! I made an impossible request the night before we flew - I would like to learn the secrets of pasta sauce making. No joke - 8pm the night before I spoke directly with the amazing Sabina thanks to Eddie, and we agreed to a 4 hour cooking... More

We booked to go to Tivoli with Eddie's Fun Tours and we had a bit of a hiccup. The tour turned out to not to be exactly what we expected due to various reasons. No matter at all really and then there was a phone call the following day from Jobe who is one of their tour guides and the... More

My husband and I happened upon Eddie's Fun Rome in front of the Pantheon. Great tour. Great price. Really wonderful. The next day we took the Under the Roman Sun tour and that's when the fun began. Jobe was our remarkable tour guide. What an adventure! Jobe is absolutely absorbed in the history and you'll learn so much. He's funny... More

I decided to use Eddie's Fun because my sister toured with them 3 years ago and had lots of great things to say. I booked their Vatican City and Under the Roman Sun tour. Both were excellent but during the Under the Roman Sun tour, seeing 3 countries through one keyhole made me really appreciate the geniuses who built Rome!... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
