The tourist hordes can be overwhelming in Rome. Here's your chance to explore a more "neighborhood" area, with an expert at your side! Hande managed our questions expertly and we ate so well! Different areas of the city are toured on different days, so if you can manage it I recommend going when you first arrive in Rome in an... More

Hande was wonderful!.....very knowledgeable about the food and the culture of the region. Not only did we get a local feel for the food culture, we ate our way through the entire tour! It was some of the best food I've had! Highly recommend. You will not be disappointed. Go hungry :)

Hande did a great job! We knew Rome is difficult in August but still wanted to do this, hoping we can also get recommendations for our week - we stayed at an apartment. Yes, there were many places closed and our guide did point out some places she would normally include in her tour of the area, but honestly we... More

This tour is AMAZING. Hande, the guide, is an excellent Roman foodie - she knows where to find the most delicious cappuccinos, the best pizza by the slice, even the most scrumptious pastries from the Jewish ghetto. Hande not only encourages her tour to savor delectable cheeses, melt-in-your-mouth chocolates, and in-season fruits and vegetables, but she also teaches the group... More

Hande lead us on a fabulous tour through Prati. Great value for the money...we learned a lot about the market and about how to pair wine with food. We loved the other family that took part in the tour and we will definitely take another tour with Hande in the future. Ciao Lana and Doce

We had the best time on this tour. The food was abundant and delicious, we learned a lot of background information and the guide was very fun and nice, we clicked together in a perfect way. An absolute must if you like food and want to understand italian food better, too. My uncle, who is originally from Rome was our... More

The most important part of traveling, for me, is the food. My Rome Food Tour was the best way to discover the best places to eat in a city that is riddled would subpar trattorias. I ended up doing both the Pantheon/Jewish Ghetto tour and the Prati tour. Both were so fun! Not only did I find new places to... More

Wonderful tour with a knowledgeable and friendly host (Hande) and some charming fellow tour guests. We were a small group and had a wonderful morning with Hande. My 13 year old daughter who hates walking, but loves food was totally won over. Highly recommended. We would do it again (and again!)

Did this tour thinking it is a chance to eat some yummy italian food - now i am almost ashamed to say this. Learned so incredibly a lot. Very in depth information about the food traditions in Rome and in Italy, about the difference produce and cheeses, meats and gelato we ate.... so charmingly and passionately conveyed, too. A definite... More

Staying in Prati

Neighbourhood Profile
Just steps away from the chaos of the centre, Prati is the closest Rome gets to calm. Meticulously planned in a neat grid, quite unlike neighbouring Borgo, Prati is a local favourite for its aesthetic organisation and wide streets lined with a range of boutiques for every shopping fantasy. Nonnis pushing baby carriages and gossiping teens own every inch of the sidewalk, but that’s only during business hours. Once the sun sets, quirky sidestreet bars celebrate aperitivo hour, those evening cocktails that help wash away the tensions of Roman life.
