Myself and my boyfriend went here for a relaxing evening after a long day of walking around Rome. It was just what we needed. The atmosphere was lovely, the staff were friendly and the treatment was fantastic. Would highly recommend and would definitely go back!

I was so tired, my feet and legs really were aching so I looked up spa services online. AcquaMadre was the one I chose and I am extremely glad I did. I had no idea what to do when I got there but they explained exactly what was about to happen and how to proceed. They give you slippers and... More

If you are looking to relax in the city center, I highly recommend a visit to AcquaMadre. They have an amazing hammam that gives you about 2 hours of serenity. The staff is very helpful and will help walk you through the entire process. I will definitely be making a trip back here the next time I am in Rome.

A wonderful oasis of relax and wellness in the Jewish ghetto, the charming heart of the historic center of Rome. If you want to feel cuddled taking care of your body and soul according to the ancient principles of the "Roman baths" and Acquamadre is the place to be. Massages with essential oils are the culmination of a wonderful experience!!!

We had a lovely weekend in Rome and since we really needed to take a break from work we been suggested to go to Acquamadre. We were welcomed by a very professional receptionist who explained us how the hammam was going to work. We were given everything we needed apart from the swim suit. As soon as we got into... More

If you're looking for a few hours relaxation Acqua Madre is perfect. Nestled on a small back street, it is an oasis from the hustle and bustle of Rome. The spa itself is tastefully decorated and the staff are friendly and attentive. Well worth the price, the relaxation room with tea at the end was a personal highlight.

My fiancée and I visited here after a few busy days in Rome with 47 degree plus days. The staff were attentive and the experience was amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would come back again.

My sister and I were looking for a roman bath spa for some relaxation and a little pampering. This was perfect. It is located in a very historic spot in Rome surrounded by some very good restaurants. We spent two hours in the spa and left feeling like a million bucks. I will return every chance I get.

I went at the end of a day of walking around Rome together with my boyfriend. The Hammam is located very close to Largo di Torre Argentina, on the skirts of the Jewish ghetto. The ambience is really nice and the building is well maintained. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon at 6.30 pm and left that it was almost... More

Staying in Ghetto

Neighbourhood Profile
Ghetto
The mini-neigbourhood Ghetto holds tight to its reputation as a stand-alone area thanks to its nearly 300-year history as the home to Rome’s Jewish community. Times changed in the 20th century, but the tiny area still retains its mix of tradition, community, and history. Ancient and medieval architectural design frames apartments, bakeries, shops, and restaurants. Friends and families are the pulse of the neighbourhood, keeping company on the Via del Portico d’Ottavia. The Ghetto observes the traditional Jewish Shabbat: businesses close from Friday sundown to Saturday sundown.
