I love Trastevere but on this visit we saw lots of graffiti on almost every wall. The majority of the little shops were closed down - such a shame. That said, it is worth visiting just to look at the beautiful church of Saint Maria...More

I did my homework before visiting Rome and everything said Trastevere is cool, casual and laid back and one the the many places you should visit. It's all spot on. It's effortlessly stylish and rustic and has an atmosphere you just want to let flow...More

Nice to have a wonder around with some interesting oddity shops appearing. No clear route to take which makes me wonder if we missed loads though?

This was by far my family's favorite place to explore at night. The quiet streets open up and are filled with local residents eating at a multitude of restaurants. This area is a perfect spot to grab a chair outside and a glass of vino...More

It's the best area for restaurants and have a nice walking. During the night the site is much more beautiful and full of life. I suggest to reserve in advance the restaurants since during the high season are quite often full

Great little shops, restaurants and quaint buildings. Lovely to walk down the narrow streets. What a gem!! Less hustle and bustle.

Unfortunately only found this place on the last but one night. But definately more nightlife over here! Think we went to a place called Pimms Good and ended up staying till close drinking with the bar staff. Tried to eat like Italians, but with massive portions...More

If you want to see Rome as locals do, this is the place to visit. There are narrow streets packed with restaurants, bars and small Piazzas crowded with buskers and people having a good time. It is a well-known sightseeing area. There's no shortage of...More

Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded
postcard, a little worn around the edges but still
charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering
streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and
overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible
mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of
entertainment - a rotating set of street performers
entertains almost every night, and unforgettable

We stayed at the Arco Del Lauro and it was very quiet and beautiful in that area - we loved it. It's in the northeastern portion of Trastevere I believe - close to the river and steps from very good restaurants, and within... More
