Piazza Navona is a wonder and a magnificent space in a city of spectacular sites. The outline of the Piazza differs from others in the city due to the original blueprint of the Stadium of Domitian, over which the current Piazza was constructed.
The centerpieces of the Piazza are Bernini's Fountain of the Four Rivers and Borromini's Sant'Agnese in Agone (definitely worth a visit).
There are plenty of little shops, lots of restaurants, and Palazzo Braschi (a museum of the city of Rome) in or connected to the Piazza - if you are somewhat timid about moving about the city too much on your own, this is a great place to go as you can spend lots of leisure time, have a meal or drink, or visit a museum.
Additionally, one is not far from San Luigi Francesi, Sant'Ivo, and the Pantheon when they are in the Piazza.

My favorite plaza in Roma! The architecture, the fountains and the people watching from the outdoor restaurants cannot be beat!

Great shops, but everything was ridiculously expensive. Just taking a stroll through it is enough. And maybe a gelato.

I got here just as the sun was setting and I could not believe my eyes. The architecture of this place is incredible. I can not emphasize enough the need to hire a tour guide. You are lost without someone telling you the history of this place.

This is one of the largest and most beautiful public spaces in Rome. Built on the site of Stadium of Domitian in the first century (yep 2000 years ago) it was built for people to go and watch competitions. Originally called Circus Agonalis it was here that they held water games.

It was transformed into a public space in the late 15th century into a city market and then revamped into the Piazza Navona during reign of Pope Innocent X. You have some of the finest examples of Baroque sculptures by Bernini, Giacomo Della Portia and topped by the Obelisk of Domitian.

Today, the square is filled with Restaurants, tourists and sightseers and locals. It is magnificent.

A Jumbotron in Piazza Navona broadcasting commercials. What a disappointment! Totally distracts from the reason why people come…to enjoy the piazza. If people wanted to be bombarded with commercials they could stay at home.

Visited here in August 2021 with my Fianceé and we absolutely loved it. Fantastic scenery and amazing fountains with incredible sculpture works on all of them.

Plenty of shops around and not very busy so plenty of space to move about and keep a safe distance.

Must see if you love your architecture and Roman History
