    Best Piazza in Rome
This is my favourite Piazza in Rome. There is so much to look at and there is always a great atmosphere. Its main feature are the magnificent fountains. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes to savour the piazza and watch the world go by.

    Lively atmosphere
The best piazza in Rome !!! It is such a wonderful place to just sit and enjoy the atmosphere around. A lot of people perform there and there is a beautiful church (Sant'Agnese) which is also a must see when you are here. We enjoyed out time a lot.

    Piazza Perfecto
The Piazza Navona has not changed much since my first visit in 1979 with the exception of the prices! The restaurants surrounding the square are all now pretty pricey and way above my pay scale! The Piazza is famous for its 3 distinctive fountains with the centrepiece being Bernini's Fountain of the four rivers dating from 1651 and it's central obelisk. The other 2 fountains are by Porta with the Fontana Del Moro 1575 & the Fountain of Neptune 1574. All have had additions/alterations over the centuries. The Piazza is a fine example of Roman baroque architecture and dates from early AD but underwent major changes from 1644 under Pope Innocent X whose family home fronted the square.

    Fun square
A fun vibrant square in the heart of Rome. Here you will find restaurants, bars, churches, fortune tellers and fountains. The centerpiece is of course, the Fountain of the Four Rivers. Definitely worth a visit by day and night.

    Expansive piazza with beautiful fountains
The Piazza Navona is a wonderful expansive piazza that epitomizes the atmosphere of Rome. It has the baroque architecture and Bernini’s Fountain of the Four Rivers and an openness that is very appealing. It is near many restaurants, three of which we dined at during our extended weekday in Rome following a Viking Ocean Cruise. We strolled through it several times during our visit to Rome this past November.

Probably the Most Famous Piazza in Rome
This is probably the most famous Piazza in Rome. Large pedestrian open space full of baroque architecture marvels namely the Bernini's Four Rivers fountain. Full of street artists, performers and painters. Surrounded by restaurants and coffee shops. It is a place not to be missed once in Rome.

    loved it!
I came here the morning that I arrived in Rome and had a great time. The piazza is stunning, as is the church inside. It's all free to visit and I had some lovely weather, too. Awesome place to spend a few hours enjoying magnificent architecture and food + drinks, which are served by several nice restaurants around the square. If you're visiting Rome, put Piazza Navona on your list for sure.

    Lovely area with beautiful fountains.
This is one of my favorite places to visit in Rome. It was once a Roman arena but it is now filled with many restaurants and cafes ( a little expensive but worth it to get a drink and take in the sights ). There are three fountains with the center one being the most spectacular. It is also only a short walk to the Pantheon. I would definitely recommend a visit to the Piazza.

Large vibrant square in the historical area
We were staying nearby and it was only a 5 minute walk to this large vibrant square. Piazza Navona has three impressive fountains, including la Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi with its large obelisk at the centre. The baroque church of Sant'Agnese in Agone is also located nearby. Surrounding the square are many restaurants and bars. Its long oval shape was the result of being the site of the Stadium of Domitian - where festivals and sporting events took place. This is a really pleasant and vibrant place to hang out, have a drink alfresco or dine at one the many restaurants in the piazza and people watch. Its a must visit when in Rome.

    Prettiest piazza in Rome
Piazza Navona was built on the site where the 1st century Stadium of Domitian (Circus Agonalis) once stood with 20,000 spectators cheering over athletic competitions, thus defining its present elongated oval shape. It was eventually converted to a delightful public square since the 15th century, hosting many festivals and theatrical events over the centuries which continues till today with street performers such as dancers and magicians enlivening the atmosphere. It is also the site of Rome’s main Christmas Market in December. The piazza is a showcase of Baroque masterpieces, anchored by the 17th-century Baroque-styles Palazzo Pamphilj and Church of Sant’Agnese in Agone. But the show-stoppers are undoubtedly the 3 splendid fountains, namely the Fountain of the Four Rivers, Fontana del Moro and Fountain of Neptune, which wow visitors with their stunning sculptural creations. No wonder this square is often regarded as the prettiest piazza in Rome!

On approaching the square, we stopped for drinks and snacks at one of its centrally located cafes. From there we enjoyed viewing the sites and people watching. Although there was a light rainfall, the square was crowded.

Lovely place with many restaurants and shops. It is built on the site of the 1st century AD Stadium of Domitian where Saint Agnes was martyred, hence the Sant'Agnese in Agone church faces into the Piazza Navona. The fountains (Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi, Fontana del Moro and Fontana di Nettuno) are stunning but go early in the morning if you want to see them as it gets very busy. The police are generally there to ensure there are no issues but the street sellers are a nuisance and nothing is done to deter them. Also keep your hands in your pockets or over your bag as there can be pickpockets. The restaurants have people at the entrance to their eateries trying to draw you in too.

Early morning stop by Piazza Navona. On this sunny Friday morning, it was pretty quiet. A few people out and about taking photos. Others sitting on benches. It's a beautiful piazza, one of Rome's great attractions featuring three fountains: Bernini's Four Rivers Fountain with an obelisk in the center, and two smaller fountains, Neptune and Moro, at either end. There is also a 17th century church Sant'Agnese in Agone.
Later in the day, the piazza is filled with people and a marketplace. There are nearby restaurants to get a drink and sit for a while.

Very beautiful and classic square with restaurants (expensive, walk further away for reasonable food) and churches (wear trousers!)

It was a shame this time that my favorite Piazza in Rome was pretty much completely under construction. It is such a historic and beautiful piazza, I wouldn't think that they would be working on both fountains at the same time, but they were.

Piazza Navona is one of the most amazing squares in Rome. Dating back to the 1st century AD when it was built as a stadium, today, the square is known for its beautiful sculptures and fountains. There are many charming cafes, restaurants, and shops, making it the perfect spot to relax and soak in the lively ambiance of Rome. A must visit.
