Streets of medieval buildings crammed together with all manner of bars and shops suddenly give way to this well proportioned Piazza. The central fountain is at first hardly visible because of the various street performers and artists that entertain all who visit the square.

The energy of the piazza at sunset is wonderful. Street performers and artists abound. People gather around the fountain to share in community. If you want to experience Romans and tourists together, this is a good place.

This is an interesting 20th century church, but with a much older heart: the apse is decorated with a fresco from a church of the same name, from the 13th century, that once stood in the Roman Forum but was demolished in 1900. This is one interesting piazza. Virtually no tourists just locals and lots of them. Locals of all ages come to this piazza (mostly in the evenings & weekends) giving this place a real vibrancy. There are several cafes and pizzerias and some have tables set up in the piazza itself. The others surround the piazza. This is a great spot... More
