About
Fernando Canini founded the Waxworks Museum in 1958. The collection is the first in Italy and the third in Europe as to importance and number of characters displayed. Come to see us in our enchanted world of wax statues. You can really take a walk across history and meet famous foreign and Italian leaders of the ancient times who have made the history of our country and around the world. Also your children will enjoy this funny approach to culture, able to providing them hints for deeping the study of historical events, literature and geography related to the exhibition.

Neighbourhood: Trevi
A non-stop photo and souvenir opportunity, Trevi is all about action. From early morning through the wee hours, the piazza surrounding Trevi Fountain hosts a never-ending flow of tourists hoping to make a wish or take a selfie. Clever restaurants, charming gelaterias, uncanny bars, kitsch shops, and a range of hotels make up the local landscape. Beneath the bustle are the remains of an ancient neighbourhood that you can visit by heading over to a repertoire cinema and asking for a peek underground. There is something for everyone, but if peace and quiet are what you seek, plan to visit in the early morning hours.

The museum is the smallest museum I have ever seen and totally not worth 10 euros per person.
The figures were horrible And looked like they were made by kids.
One of the figures was Hitler next to the world leader!
My advise- don’t go any near that place

Introducing Hitler next to the world leaders is a disgrace to you! Most of the characters are unfamiliar, old and in bad quality

Honestly this was a huge mistake. The wax figures are not high quality and the museum is quite small. My advice, skip it.

Dear Customer we thank you for your review, we regret that the museum did not impress you. It is a good solution for families who want their children to learn a little history in a light, alternative and fun way!

Totally not worth it

Went here yesterday as it was a very wet day. It was 10 euro per person completely a rip off. The wax impressions are not even at that high of quality, the people inside are quite outdated not a lot of local now a day celebrities. Children would not be familiar with most statues.

Our family was in Rome for a few days after a cruise, and as we walked around town, we saw this little gem. People expecting the "Big Box" wax museums won't see its potential, but my kids and grandkids had a hoot with it! Some figures we recognized -- some not. We visit wax museums every chance we get -- and they all seem to have something to offer that we haven't seen before. I think this wax museum needed some overhauling to give it more "wow factor." It is fairly small and compact, and basically fell short on displays. For instance, Clint Eastwood (dressed as a cowboy) was just standing out in a hallway. A better display would have him in a wild west scenario. They also lumped many of the characters into a gallery losing all the potential. I think I would have taken the restaurant display and made it into several individual displays, instead of just lumping unrelated figures inside. The wax figures aren't "superb" but they are recognizable. This place is like much of Rome -- something our family did together and we will remember!

Bit of a waste of time and money

Spent €20 to go round for the two of us and was not the best. The wax work wasn’t great and some looked very old and damaged. Thought there would have been more wax works. The tour lasted about 10 minutes however did have toilet facilities which which helped with my partners IBS, as there are no public toilets around.

Not good value for money but good fun.
Takes around 15 minutes to go through each room, and costs €10 for an adult entry. Couldn’t get student price as they charge you based on how tall you are- and I was above the line! ( I am only 5ft!)
They have wax figures of popes, politicians and some celebrities. All produced by the men who worked on the ticket office.

Wouldn’t recommend as a ‘must see’ but a pleasant break away from the busy sites of Rome.

Poor waxworks.
Oct. 2018
We had free admission with one of our tourist passes, but we wouldn't have bothered if we had needed to pay. There's a certain amusement in trying to guess who the waxworks were trying to represent, but we were only inside for about 20 minutes as there wasn't a lot to see.

Very overpriced

We visited today for curiosities sake. It is disappointing compared to many others. The characters are largely just standing there, not staged at all and some are not very lifelike. Disappointing.
