    Shade from the hot sun
We visited these beautiful gardens on a very hot July afternoon. The greenery and shade were a welcome refuge from the sun and heat of the Roman streets. There are many benches for relaxing and winding paths to walk. We saw a number of bicycle carriages taking visitors around the park as well.

Well worth a visit to get away from the crowds in Rome, lovely walks under the trees.
I really liked this park. It's free, apart from additional activities, and there is enough tree cover to make a walk during the heat of the day bearable. Loads to see & do. I lived the lake, with it's greek temple and friendly terrapins. We visited the Borghese gallery too. Get there early (it's a bit of a climb) or use the Spagna metro stop and walk up the hill.

    Beautiful, Overwhelming!
As the saying goes….when in Rome! Next to the Vatican, Roman Forum, Colosseum etc, this is a “must check a box”. It is one of the largest parks in Europe. It is huge. We did not buy any “skip the lines” to get into the gallery since we were not sure of our schedule. However, we did rent a golf cart for an hour and drove around the park. Go to the main circle in the park for rentals. Best decision I ever made. We got a chance to see about 1/3 of the park. I would rent for 2 hours if possible.

    Loved the little train.
It was a very hot day, so after we looked at the main vista, we hopped in the little train. For a few euros, we had a tour of about 30 minutes with commentary of the gardens, with a few picture stops. This was great and allowed us to see what we couldn't have seen walking due to the heat.

    Peaceful green area
Beautiful informal gardens a 15 min walk from Piazza de Popolo. We really appreciated the peace and tranquility, a total contrast to the hustle and bustle of central Rome. We hired boats on the artificial lake, it was so relaxing.

We spend some time in the gardens on one of our free days while visiting Rome. It was so peaceful, I'm sure we only saw part of it but because it is high up above Piazza del Popolo ot is a great place tlo capture images across the city

The Hyde Park(London), Central Park(New York City), Stanley Park(Vancouver) of Rome - enough said. Vast open spaces, enough shady trees and park benches, lots of greenery, and almost never crowded. A place to escape from the long lines of humanity waiting to get into all the top sights in Rome, ancient Rome, and the Vatican City. There are the requisite number of historical buildings in the grounds of Villa Borghese, but we did not visit a single one, savoring nature instead, as there are plenty of artifacts, buildings, and ruins, everywhere else.
Probably the best kept secret is the wonderful panoramic view looking west from
Terrazza Viale del Belvedere. Here you can survey the rooftops of all the places you have visited or plan for the next series of long queues.

Not to missed while in Rome. We spent several hours in the garden. It is a great way to see how Romans spend their leisure time. There is ample space for picnicking and people watching. The air is fresh and the grounds are green with plentiful shade. There are also a few performers if you would like to watch them. We spent time walking and also rented tandem bikes. The park is large, so the bikes were very beneficial, not to mention fun. The noise level was also low compared to the touristy parts of Rome, which we greatly appreciated.

We toured these gardens to catch a break from churches and museums. It is a nice parc with some beautiful features such as the pond with the Temple of Asclepius. It is not a super manicured place and even has a dog play area, but it was a welcome break

We hadn’t seen or heard too much about the gardens before going to Rome but decided to take a walk up and are glad we did. Whilst they aren’t very formal gardens, there was an enormous amount of green space to rest and relax and it was so peaceful considering the buzz of tourists and the city were only a 10 minute walk away. Must see the turtles in the little lake!
