While the building is impressive, do not overlook the Tomb of the unknown soldier lit with the eternal flame built under the statue of goddess Roma after World War I The tomb is guarded by two soldiers.

A huge and impressive monument that sits at the end of the Piazza Venezia the architecture and statues are like most of Rome historic buildings magnificent. Lots of steps put worth the tired legs and very close to lots of historic sights.

The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is front & centre facing Venenzia, and is always guarded, appropriate respect for the fallen & missing from war. Just another beautiful setting in this already stunning building
