Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This huge statue takes the name from Mars Forum where it was to be many years before.
The statue is six meters long and probably it represents the Ocean , the god who reigned over all the world’s water and dates from second century AD.

This is one of two wildly over-sized statues in the Capitoline Museum in central Rome.
The 6 metre long statue cannot be freely seen by passers-by. You’ll only be able to see him by paying to enter the museum.
What you see here is a gigantic 1st century marble statue of a reclining god, stretched out alongside a fountain pool. He is surrounded by some sort of tentacled marine creature and flanked by water-spouting dolphins. He is generally said to represent either Oceanus or one of the river gods.
Resting on one arm, with a loosely draped robe around his waist, he looks like he could be sunbathing at a beachside resort. He holds a shell in one hand but it could just as easily be a cocktail.
Apart from his startling size, he is also famous for being one of the six “talking statues” of Rome. In centuries past, Romans would post political and satirical comments on the talking statues, always anonymously and mostly under the cover of darkness. Comments were often irreverent and mocked authority figures but they could also be harsh condemnations, especially of the ruling classes, politicians and popes.

Located near the exit of the Capitoline Museum is the interesting Marforio statue. This is a 1st century monument believed to be that of Oceanus or one of the river gods. The statue is a male figure with thick hear and beard, semi-clothed and lounging in front of a strange creature with a dragon-like head and two octopus tentacles and spout which spits water into a small basin in front of Marforio.
You can see Marforio up close only with paid entry ticket to the museum. Otherwise, you can still sneak a peek from the Piazza del Campidoglio but from a distance by simply looking through the exit. Marforio.
