Neighbourhood: Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.

Close to Trastevere

Fairly ordinary bridge with less appealing views to that of its counterpart Ponte Garibaldi. Connects Trastevere with the Tiber Island area and is not far from relics such as Temple of Hercules Victor and Arch of Janus.

It stands next to the ruin of a Roman bridge. It is the most direct route from Trastevere to the Forum and Palatine hill.

A bridge for the construction of which a Roman bridge was demolished

In order to build it, modern Italian state ruined half of the still standing Ponto Roto. Now, to the tourist, the Ponte Palatino is good enough only as a viewpoint to the Ponto Rotto ...

A bridge with some history
Jun. 2017 • Couples
Ponte Palatino is a bridge with a bit of history behind it! It's a late 19th century construction to replace a previous one. In fact several bridges were built replacing previous ones on the same spot. You can take some nice photo shots from there.
