Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The highest area of Procida, with unmissable and unique views of the island, and beyond. There is also the Palazzo D'Avalos, which can be visited and a couple of bars to have a unique aperitif. The climb to get there is quite steep and challenging, but if you prefer and are lucky there is the bus that gets there (C2).

If you did not know that terra murata was initially the walled upper city from the late middle ages, it might seem a bit underwhelming. There is no interpretation, no placards visible, which is in keeping with this being a more locals only town, not a tourist spot. Through what had been the main gate into terra murata there is a small side chapel still maintained by a local family, right in the tunnel like entrance to the gateway. An Italian tourguide told me much later that that chapel to the virgin mary was tha last church visit most prisoners would have the chance to pray at on their way to the prison. There is a placque on the square facing naples to a fishing boat crew that never came home, 2 churches that are open but we didn't go in thining that it required some admission or prior ticket, although we have been told that if the door is open, then the church is open. Outstanding views. The prison front overlooking the smaller harbor is eerily reminiscent of Alcatraz somehow.

Can easily fall in love with the island just looking at the view. When we went there we went for a day trip but id recommend to stay over a night if possible to explore the whole island

Excellent location, easily connected to the town center, with the bus stop you can reach various locations on the island.
The owner is very helpful and ready to satisfy every need.
A note should be made about the structure: breakfast, cleaning and design of the room need to be reviewed. For a short stay it could be fine.

Not very much to see...An picturesque, isolated quarter, old houses, narrow streets.Pretty hard to reach, the acces road is steep. There is a (little)bus(line C2) you can take from the harbour,if you don't like to walk.I walked,so I don't know the price. An interesting point is Belvedere dei Due Cannoni. From there you have an outstanding view of the Marina Corricella and of the island. At least for this and worth the effort to reach Terra Murata.

Procida is a very small island, and probably the least touristy of them all.
If you are there, you should make the trek ( or take a taxi) to Terra Murata. It’s the highest point on the island, it’s the historic center of Procida and built for defense purposes. From there you will have a beautiful view of the Bay of Naples. Unfortunately the Abbey wasn’t open when we visited

A photographers dream!
The bus C2 goes right up to Terra Murata, and a short (steep) walk gets you right to the very top and amazing views.
Breathtaking

Terra Murata is a place of great beauty built on the highest point of the island Procida. It was initially the fortified upper city from the middle ages. Nowadays it is amazing historic centre above the port, with breathing views on Coricella and the Gulf of Naples, across to Capri and along the coast to Sorrento. Terra Murata can be reached only through shaggy hill, however if you are lucky, you can take a local bus.
Colourful houses, almost empty squares, abandoned prison, medieval Abbazia San Michele Arcangelo. I have been there just before sunset - beautiful! It strikes that many houses are abandoned and there are almost no people on streets. Surrealistic and magical atmosphere makes you feel that you walking in a fairy-tale city. Really must!

When you come to Procida you must do a tour of Terra Muta, either an organised tour or by yourselves. We did it on our own, caught the C2 bus, had a lovely lunch with magnificent views.

Our archaeological group would like to ferry over and get insider tours to the sites such as abbey, palace, prison and Museum. A Saturday in April. Could you suggest a guide and itinerary for 15-25 people?
