We were very pleased to avoid the crowds at Pompeii. Admission is free. You can walk through the villas in about an hour. Very interesting history!

Terrific example of Roman bath houses. Roman architecture was just amazing. There will be a crowd because it is really worth seeing. Just be patient and you get to see everything. No need to push.

This was part of Pompeiian life, the baths... still in a condition allowing one to pause, imagine and attempt to mentally see what this area was like before tragedy struck.

The baths provide a wonderful insight into Roman life. Google to see how the Romans heated the baths - really clever and interesting. Look for the gap between the walls where the heat was pumped

Another great art of our tour of Pompeii. The building is in great condition and the baths have been restored beautifully. We got some lovely photos as it wasn't too busy when we entered.

The oldest baths in Pompeii, dating back in parts to the 4th century BC. They are well preserved. Of particular note are the polychrome frescoes on the ceiling of the apodyterium (changing room), the beautiful colonnade round the palaestra, the baths themselves and probably the...More
