Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Perhaps the only way to enjoy this is to visit during off season. When we visited in May, they were limiting the number of people that can enter at a time due to the size of the crowd. So even when it is your turn, you will be guaranteed to see wall to wall people. The place is interesting, but the crowd kills it.

The Pompeians since ancient times knew how to enjoy life, the baths the banquets the shows were an example of this. The three frigidarium tiepidarum and calidarium environments are very well kept, adjacent to the forum.
Surely this is a place worth visiting even if it is very full of tourists

Interesting Roman baths that are very well preserved. You could see how male and female people take their bath separate.

I cannot imagine washing myself or take a shower without using soap and yet the Romans did just that. They frequented public baths and came out apparently clean, without the need for soap. Pompeii has I believe two or three public baths. Hot water baths cold water baths and sauna. Pmpei is so well preserved that you can see shelves all around the bath-rooms partitioned for each person to put their clothes in. Public baths are an integral part of your visit to Pompeii. The majority of buildings are insignificant, unimportant dwelling of ordinary roman families but the public baths were available to all Romans, another from fro discussion and socializing. One thing is vitally important. If yoiu want to visit Pompeii be prepared to spend 4 or 5 hours waling the streets of the town. I was there twice with my family, two days running, and we spent 5 hours on average on each visit. You need plenty of water. The heat is just bearable but there are lots of clean water taps for visitors to re-fill their bottles.
The entrance fee for Pompeii (to all places in Pompeii) is only 11 Euros in 2013 prices which is cheap considering you will be walking the streets of Antiguity ! -- The 11 Euros include entrance to every building inside Pompeii. -Visiting Pompeii including its public bath is an experience like no other. It is really traveling back in time, 1934 years in fact, back to 79 AD

We learned rich people visited daily, the middle class weekly, the poor perhaps monthly.
Everyone was in the same water LOL, there was a very inventive system for warming the water under the floor.

It is a remnant of what is was as the ash caused the roof to collapse but there are glimmers of how magnificently decorated it was, a little remains. The center of Roman life.

According to our tour guide, Romans, as well as some of their fortunate slaves, spent the better part of their days here as this was not only their means of taking care of their health, but also their means of socializing. The baths contained their versions of a gym, and also contained a "frigidarium" (a cold room) besides the "tepidarium" (the hot baths). According to our tour guide, these baths actually had warm floors as there was warm water being sent through pipes beneath the flooring! Talk about an advanced civilization! :)

This is one of the only buildings that survived in Pompeii, because the roof wasn't flat but curved, meaning the ash didn't crush the building under it's weight, therefore you can appreciate the beauty of the walls and especially the small details. Loved it

Adjacent to the Forum, this is a splendid example of Roman baths at their best. Divided into male and female sections, the tepidarium and caldarium in the male section are the most impressive parts with splendid frescoes and statues of figures holding up the ceiling.

In their day, the Forum Baths, with their separate entrances for men and women, must have been luxurious - even if the latter's facilities were not quite up to the standard of those of the male of the species.
Both suffered badly in the earthquake of AD 62 and the female side was still under renovation 17 years later when Vesuvius erupted. However, the men's side appears to have been fully restored with elaborate decoration on the walls of all the main rooms in the form of both stucco and paintings.
Of particular note is the marble basin in the apse of the Caldarium, but there are many other things to attract the eye.
