Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The three rooms are beautiful, one of which, containing the busts, includes a small, richly frescoed chapel. The visit was made on December 2nd on the occasion of a free opening with a guided tour, the professor who accompanied us was exceptional for the detailed and precise explanations he provided us, unfortunately I don't know his name but I thank him warmly x the courtesy and competence with which he led us through the visit. I participated in the first round of visits at 9.30am but I advise against choosing that time slot because being the first means that they open late (as happened to me) and then they rudely and vehemently invite you to leave the rooms because we are the other visiting shifts, am I referring to an elderly and rude caretaker?? He didn't even qualify that he was still making us jump out of the windows just to get rid of us, shameful and in any case there was no other group waiting when we left. I would prefer them to charge an entrance fee and avoid these mean figures.

It is at Piazza Enrico de Nicola. Well, I expect that it was begun by Norman King William I and completed by Frederick II....If i remembered from my class correctly.

Castel Capuano was a royal palace until 1540, when it became the Court of Justice.
Today it is a courthouse.

Worth to visit, but not spend so long time here.

best regards,

Remarkable how a palace and fortress built by the Normans in 1165, remains, albeit rebuilt in 1540 and turned castle into law courts. A short distance away stands the gateway of Porta Capuana where the ancient road to Capra entered the city. The two towers called Honour and Virtue, enclose the marble arch, repeating the pattern in the Arco di Triofo in Castel Nuovo

Very disappointed - we walked forever trying to locate Castle Capuano in the pouring rain only to learn it was completely gated off and closed. Their website says open until 1800. The thing that bugged me the most was the fact that no one that was local even knew where it was. I have just finished my first novel that takes place in Naples in the renaissance and really needed info on this castle. So frustrated. Change the website already if you are not open. I was also frustrated with castle Dell Ovo it was also closed for restoration.
Came all the way from Canada to see.

Website says it’s open but when we get there it’s closed. The people at the desk joke about it being closed for the next 20 years since there’s no money. I spent a half a day just getting there to find this out. The administration should inform the public of this. We were not the only visitors to be turned away.

This castle was built for Neapoletan Kings in XII'th century. Those days it stood by the road to the city of Capua, so that how it took its name.
