Very fun ride

The funicolare is an extremely fun ride. It's a Train like ride up a very, very Steep incline. Inexpensive. A must do in Naples.

We noted that there should be 4 funiculars in Naples and my husband wanted to visit all four. The first one we found which is signposted. The time we got on was not very crowded at all, these really are for the residents to travel on as it is quite stretch of the leg to walk to the top, albeit... More

We arrived by boat at 8am and had no wait up the tram. A fun way to travel but a bit of a crush. Not sure what accommodations for wheelchairs but as the walk up would be arduous I hope there is.

Don't take a taxi to get to the Vomero, take the funicolare, travel as the Neopolitans have for ages. It's like San Francisco Cable Car meets New York City's Subway. Very functional, fun and inexpensive. Not to mention not having to deal with intense cab negotiations, wild scary driving and an assortment of things that happen in cabs. Would I... More

After our trip to the top of the hill (via a different Funicular) we came down on this one. Was a short walk to our hotel and great way to round out our visit to Naples. The view from the hill top is well worth the trip

The Funicular railway trams are just about the neatest mode of public transit that we've travelled on, nice. Quickest way up Volmer hill from below and serves the transportation needs of the locals. Is on time & very pleasant to ride. Great views up or back down. ...

The fastest connection to climb to the Vomero Hill from Via Toledo, albeit being the youngest of the four Naples funiculars, this cable car is almost a century old. The Central Funicular is one of the longest and busiest funicular lines in the world, and with over 10 million passengers carried annually, it is one of the busiest funicular in... More

One of the few cableway in Naples. The tickets are the same used to all the other local means of transportation. It's a not very long but very interesting trip,as long as it's made in a very steep way.

We took the cable cable to go to the Piazza Vanvitelli. It's a truly impressive piece of engineering and really different from your usual humdrum public transport. The way back down was really quite dramatic. Quite an unusual and unexpected experience!

Little bit of a line at the top, and some locals know how to squeeze themselves through; but not a bad wait. The trip down gives some great views of the area, and it's another one of the things you just HAVE to do when you're there.
