Get public transport from Pompei instead of “guided tours - you’ll pay ca. €2 for a ride. When you arrive, you’ll have to pay the admission to the park - 10€/ person which includes a guide explanation on top of the mount. The views are...More

One of the big names in world geography and the Italians try to hide it with the lack of promotion and poor signposting. Persevere and you will be rewarded with a 1 or 2 km steep walk to the rim. Looking into the crater brings...More

It was a unique experience for me... very impressive however, You should bring your own food/ any walking kits to help you with the climb if you’re not sure that you would be comfortable with some difficult cliffs It’s a great part of the great...More

There's no denying it, Vesuvius is beautiful. We caught a bus from the station; tickets can be purchased on the day. The air-conditioned buses take you on a rather step and picturesque journey, until coming to a halt in a car park. From there, it's...More

Good thing I read some of the reviews before visiting. We went there by car. Paid 5€ for car parking and then we decided on one way to take an offered bus for 1€ each way, so the kids have enough energy to go up...More

We did this ad hoc after arriving at Ercolano in the Circumvesuviana to visit Herculaneum and finding the trip centre outside the station. Having already been to Pompeii we needed to see the beast close up and certainly weren’t disappointed. Paid 20€ each for air...More

I visited Vesuvius 46 years ago- since then I have smoked for another 40 years so I was apprehensive as to whether I’d make it up again. I found the first 10 minutes difficult then got my stride. Made the first coffee shop in 20...More

I also got the train to Pompeii and got the bus from there. The bus I got was 3 euro each way. There is a small bus stop along the left hand side (walking from the train station to the Pompeii entrance) with times on it.
