Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Neighborhood with many places for pizzas, desserts and much more, too bad
Quality does not reflect expectations in any establishment in the neighborhood.
Restaurants and pastry shops display food in shop windows on the street as if it were a fair. As I was saying, medium-low quality, tried many products at higher prices.
Poorly maintained neighborhood.
Same products, from babà to
Sfogliatelle can be found in many other pastry shops in northern Italy at the same prices and with the same or higher quality, and perhaps even having a place to sit and enjoy them in peace.

It's one of the coolest streets in the city.
Parallel to Spaccanapoli it is full of shops, refreshment points and special corners.
A stop at one of the many shops that sell puff pastries clearly displayed in the windows along the road is mandatory.
Absolutely worth checking out!

Like others we where 'warned' about Naples - Napoli - New City. It was described to me as a beautiful woman with dirty feet. And my was it beautiful, and dirty! But there is so much incredible beauty in the grime of Naples, and especially in the historic centre along Via dei Tribunali. It's not Rome, it's not polished, it's not green, but what it is is alive! We spend a whole day wandering around the histroci centre, and from every long and straight ancient streets are alleyways that take you to piazzas or other places of magnificence and amazement.
Artisans can be seen plying there trade and we found that there was so little 'tourist tat' relative to the size of the area. On offer instead where crafted items made on the premises by the many artisans, as had been for hundreds of years. But yes, if you want a fridge magnet you can get that also! I bought one!
The exterior of the many many churches and chapels where often relatively uninspiring, but step inside as it was shocking and breathtaking from what the eye could see!
Food and drink is available everywhere, from chilled red wine (shockingly now a firm fan!) and at very little cost.
We never saw any trouble as we were warned about, the locals are friendly and amiable, pleasant and alive!
I much prefer Naples to Rome, Athens and Vienna. Naples is alive and gritty, real and honest, and if that's what you're looking for, it's an adventure to remember!

When we walked along this narrow street, we were a part of that unique, iconic atmosphere, so characteristic to Naples! We loved it, the street was crowded, teeming with life, full of little shops, cafes, scooters, carabinieri - and churches!
Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore alla Pietrasanta (with the Andy Warhol exhibition); Santa Maria delle Anime del Purgatorio ad Arco; Basilica di San Paolo Maggiore; Chiesa dei Girolamini - those churches had interesting names and superb architecture. We would love to return to visit some of them!
We intended to visit the Duomo di Napoli, but before turning left into the Via Duomo, we admired the obelisk dedicated to San Gennaro and proceeded to the very end of the street to see the Tribunale di Napoli!

I know of nowhere in Europe with so much noise, congestion, crazy traffic in such a narrow space and the sights, sounds and beauty and ugliness are all around. It is a riot on the senses.
You must experience it when in Naples.

As we stayed close by this street became our main street. we often ate at the restaurants along the street, we tried the streetfood sold here and explored the architecture and shops along the street. There are always lots of people and lots of Vespas so be alert

Despite previous visits to Naples, this is a street we never found, but our very helpful taxi driver showed us, principally as he recommended visiting ‘underground Naples’ which you access from this street. One warning, if you are in the least claustrophobic, don’t go in! The first stairs are fine, but very soon you are faced with a VERY narrow long stone corridor which you have to go through. At this point we turned back, it really was very claustrophobic. We were treated with great politeness and understanding, and half of our entry fee (which was only Euros 10 each, including a guide) was refunded. This is a visit that is obviously fascinating, but be aware of those corridors. Sort of wish we had got up the courage to g on, but ‘base feelings’ got the better of us. Console yourself with a Pizza a couple of doors down, people queue just to buy one, they must be good.

A narrow yet longish street with lots of Naples character. Anything from pizzerias and cafes, to laundry hanging at the windows.

This street is the the high street of the old town, constantly busy every time of day that you visit regardless of the weather. It is laden with old school pizzerias and tratorias, touristy souvenir shops, fascinating churches and architecture, it really does have everything. Some of the best eating is on this street with Di Matteo's and Sorbillo's pizzerias - definitely not to be missed. Be sure to keep an eye of for scooters mind as they fly down the streets not just this one and as there is so much to look at it can be easy to not hear /see them.
