Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We arrived here after reading about it online and were really looking forward to the picturesque views we had seen online. We were firstly disappointed with having to pay for ticket using a QR code to scan. This was a real nuisance and we would have found it easier to just pay in cash, but the woman on the gate insisted this was the only method of paying. After around 20 minutes of us navigating the complicated method of payment, we felt she didn't even glance at the ticket shown. As we walked through we noticed that a larger group than us were indeed paying via cash at the shed inside. We tried not to let this dampen our visit so we walked to the view point, only to find it was closed. This was disappointing and we weren't made aware of this. I did wonder why there was a fee for us to literally walk around a small park and see the sea?

For those who want to enjoy nature and enjoy Capri, Via Krupp is a passage built to go from Capri to Marina Picola, as it is just downhill it will be easy. Enjoy the journey.
It has a wonderful sunset
And arriving at Marina Picola you can enjoy a beach, in the trendiest area of Capri
And then return to your hotel by bus

We really enjoyed the walk down Via Krupp, we took it to Marina Piccola & then got a cab back up to Capri town. The views are incredible. My pictures don’t do it justice. The water is so many pretty colors.

Via Krupp reopened in summer 2023 and is a "must do"..
The road was built by the German industrial magnate of the same name so he could get down to Marina Piccolo.
There is a 100 meter height difference between the beginning at Giardino Augusto and down to the sea.
The road is free and illuminated in the evening.

My mom and I only had an afternoon in Capri and wanted to see the beach even though it was nearly December. The weather was surprisingly warm for this time of year, especialy on the back side of Capri where Via Krupp lies. The walkway leads down to a very cute little town (Marina Piccola I believe). I suggest starting from the top and walkind down then catching a bus on the way back up. Note: We purchased bus tickets directly with the driver because there were no Tacacchi shops around like usual in Italy (cost: 1 euro 60 cents). At the top of the Via there are gardens and a gorgeous look out point that looks over the Faraglioni (famous rocks that jet out of the sea). We ended up grabbing lunch at a place down by the water and had a great time! Definitely a walk to do (it is nicely paved and easy to do as long as you are walking downward) if you have the time or want to see the sea.

This road is the best way to walk down to Marina Piccolo from Capri town. There are numerous switchbacks and you walk down from the public garden to the seashore. Take a cab or bus back.
It would be helpful if there were signs marking the way to this path from Capri town. It is an extension of Via Matteotti and Via Certosa.

The easiest way to see Via Krupp is to walk from Piazza Umberto to Marina Picolla so that you will descent Via Krupp. The reverse route is much harder as long you'll have to ascend a steep slope. From Marina Picolla you can take a bus to other points of the island.
Before start the descending I suggest to visit the Gardens of Augustus,a beautiful little park with a wonderful belvedere point. From there you can admire the beauty of the Via Krupp, the Faraglioni rocks and the sea.
In some moments,Via Krupp could be closed to visitors due to rock falling. It happened to me at my first attempt to visit.

We had wanted to walk this and went as far as the gated entrance but discovered it closed. No noticed before hand and no notice on the gates, we were sorry not to be able to walk it.

This gorgeous windy road connecting capri town to piccola marina is technically closed due to fears of falling rocks... This has been the case for years... BUT many people hop the fence at the top or the bottom and enjoy the spectacular views with no one else around. You can also look down on this beautiful road from above it at Augustus's Gardens, which is worth the detour.

We tried walking on this path, about 300 meters from the ground, but it was closed for summer. Apparently they have safety concerns with falling debris (rocks)

I am going in May to Capri and staying in Anacapri. I would like to know if the path is open and how we could get there thanks

No the path is closed due to falling rock risk but you can see it well from the path and garden area. We took one of the shuttles it's cheap and walked there following the signs it's well marked to get around everywhere. The shuttles are located in various spots pick up a tourist map. It's only like 1.50 a ticket if I recall. Shuttles run like every 20-30 minutes. It's beautiful enjoy!
