The main square on the island and a meeting point for locals and tourists alike. Lots of hustle and bustle as locals and tourists compete for space with bikes, trikes, tuk tuks and any other small vehicle capable of carrying people's luggage up from the port at the foot of the hill and into their hotels, many of them luxury,... Capri's town center has great shopping and lots of Restaurants. This is the fun local gathering spot to go after 5pm when all the Day Trippers leave. You have to walk to the full length past the Quisi famous 5 star hotel, and see rich and famous sitting out front to people watch and try and look more important than... More

The tiny main square with 3 cafes. All have identically dressed waiters and atmosphere. Not a lot to see but take a rest. It's nice enough and if you go to Capri you will end up here as it is the top of the funicular.

Weird juxtaposititioning of shops selling tacky tourist tat in main square, some over-priced cafes dotted around, and many ridiculously over-priced boutiques, jewellers and other high end branded retailers just off it. Shop staff tended to be supercilious to the extent of making us feel uncomfortable. They need to remember they are in retail and nothing special just because their prices... More

Only stopped here on the way to some other attractions. I knew instantly it was just not the sort of place for me. Even being the very end of the season there seemed to be a ridiculous number of tourists around and not much else happening.

Sat in a local cafe as the rain forced us of the street. 6 euros for a shot of hot chocolate and no biscotti of any kind on the side. Tourists must love the price of a Pret when in England if they are used to this in Capri.

It's getting harder to appreciate the beauty of places like Capri with the sheer number of tourists that go there. But the square has a slightly upmarket elegant charm nevertheless

One can only imagine what the square should look like. There are so many cafes with their seating spreading into the square you would think it was one big dinning area. It must have been a busy community area in its time.

Some of the best people watching in the boot. The hip and beautiful crowd, always out and about. Wonderful vibe.
