We were not in this area for a long time but it is where most of the boats tie up for tours around the island. What I did like to see were the local fishing boats tied up. Many tourist shops line the steep walls...More

Nice busy marina, with many companies offering boat trips around the island. Ferry schedule seems to be a bit flexible, take care not to miss yours :-)

We went to Capri for a day trip from Sorrento, and the first thing we experienced was the clutter of information about the ferry to and from. Price were similar, so get the first ferry that would go to Capri. In summer things can get...More

Very busy, but manageable. Lots of things to buy and lots to see. Nice spot off to the right to sit on some rocks or frolic in the water.

Nothing to write home about. The town of Capri further up the hill is the real gem. This harbor is unlike any other southern European harbor: a major tourist trap.

The ferries (fast or slow) arrive at Marina Grande, living up to its name as the touristy shops selling expensive goods and local bric-à-brac are here. We thought a cup of lemon ice would be great on a hot day, and it cost 5.50 euros!...More

This is where it's at! Marina Grande is the hub of Capri. If you like being in the center of things you'll want to be here. Boat rentals, scooter rentals (this is the way to see Capri), great restaurants & bars, whatever you need, you'll...More

We were lucky enough to spend a week in May in an amazing apartment overlooking Marina Grande. Yes, the Marina is extremely busy, yes, it is crowded, the shops perhaps overpriced, but the Marina itself is gorgeous. So many things going on during the day,...More

You need to pass through the Marina Grande if arriving on Capri by ferry, but it is soooooo busy my recommendation is to get out of the centre as soon as possible. It's ok for a coffee before boarding ferry back to mainland but just...More

We have friends who go from Positano to Capri and back so I'm sure you can do the opposite. I just googled how to rent a boat on Capri and the first site I chose does do private tours including to the Amalfi coast.
