Outstanding food, presentation and so much fun!
Chef Carmen is a fantastic instructor. She and her staff presented everything to us in a very professional and fun environment. There was delicious food prepared by us (with direction of course), many laughs and lots of wine to go around. We were even given the recipes of the dishes we enjoyed. Given the opportunity we would definitely schedule another class. Grazie mille!

Chef Carmen's Class, an Italian trip's High Spot!
Our group was on an Amalfi Coast trip with an extension to Ischia. Our guide offered us the wonderful experience of attending one of Chef Carmen's cooking classes. We were greeted at the door with Prosecco toasts and the party began! Chef Carmen just oozes personality and she engaged our entire group in her marvelous experience. We sang, we danced, we learned how to make three delicious recipes. We sang and we danced and enjoyed more wine, limoncello, and Prosecco while our food was cooking. The class ended with a very happy group of tourists! We were very pleased to receive Chef Carmen's recipes and plan to recreate them for an Italian dinner. I would make a visit to Chef Carmen's cooking school required for all tourists visiting Sorrento!!

    Chef Carmen will not disappoint!!
My sister and I met Carmen across the street in a very high-end hair salon named "I'm Caso". We were having difficulty understanding how the Italian system of hair salons worked and Carmen came over to help us. She was great!! (And my sister's hair never looked better!) The next day, we were walking on the street and decided to eat at this nice looking "cooking school" and who came out to greet us? CARMEN!! The rest of the experience was a delight and so was the food! Everyone there was fun and accommodating and it was obvious they all enjoyed "working" there. I believe she is the key. A word to the wise. I asked if they had the after-dinner drink my grandfather used to have called "Anisette" they didn't but they brought me something else that almost melted my make-up off!!! Stick with Limoncello! :)

We have taken several classes with Chef Carmen, each more enjoyable than the last. She’s a great teacher and we learned how to make a number of dishes that we have made over and over at home! Beyond the skills we learned, her classes are just fun! Lots of music, impromptu dancing and singing, wine and Prosecco, and then you eat what you’ve made. If you’re anywhere near Sorrento and are interested in taking a cooking class, I highly recommend Chef Carmen and La Cucina del Gusto! You can’t go wrong.

My husband and I had planned to visit Italy this summer. With COVID, that got canceled. So to get a little taste of Italian culture and cuisine, I participated in a Zoom cooking class with Chef Carmen. I enjoyed the class thoroughly and learned quite a lot.
Chef Carmen has a super personality and makes the class both fun and instructive. We made homemade pasta, bolognese sauce and we cooked fish two ways. All great lessons!!!
I highly recommend taking a Zoom cooking class to those who love all things Italian, particularly Southern Italian during this time when we can't travel to Italy.

La Cucina del Gusto has been shut down by the COVID-19 pandemic, as have all but essential businesses in Italy. However, Chef Carmen is now doing live streaming classes via Zoom. I did one of them on 27 May, and it was almost as good as being there in person. We made chicken roll ups and ravioli with cheese stuffing and and real Alfredo, i.e., no cream.
We ate the ravioli that night. It was divine. Handmade/rolled dough, and a cheese stuffing comprised of ricotta, fresh mozzarella, and Parmigiano Reggiano, and a sauce to die for. The chicken roll ups we’re equally tasty. Carmen is a great teacher, patient with the students, and lots of fun!
If you have any interest at all in learning Italian cooking, please do sign up for one or more of Carmen’s classes. You’ll learn some things and you’ll have a good time.

I had taken classes with Chef Carmen while in Sorrento and was very excited to take her live streaming class. I was not disappointed! Chef Carmen's warmth and expertise burst through even on the small screen! All her instructions beforehand and during her demonstrations are clear. All questions beforehand and during are answered quickly. She adjusts seamlessly to differences in amounts, ingredients and time zones. And one more thing that I didn't expect: Having the class with others, in our case someone from the UK, made it feel so wonderfully international! Food was delicious and our time flew by. Chef Carmen is a treasure and an experience not to be missed!

Just finished an online cooking class with Chef Carmen and can’t wait to sign up for another! I’ve done 2 in-person classes at her school in Sorrento, but with the COVID situation, this is the next best thing. Chef Carmen does an excellent job demonstrating and making sure everyone understands the instructions. We made handmade fettuccine with a delicious Bolognese sauce, and sea bass 2 ways - one encrusted with potatoes and baked, and the other aqua pazzo style. Everything is simple to do and tastes amazing! It was a great way to spend 2.5 hours, and now I have a delicious lunch and dinner to enjoy! It is an excellent value, too! Get a group of friends and family together, pour a glass of wine and get ready for some fun and delicious food!

Our family of 8 people which were all adult children and their husband and fiancés had a wonderful experience with Carmen and her crew! Carmen has a great personality and made the class so much fun. We met so many nice people and we learned how to make pasta and eggplant parm the Italian way! Game changer. The whole experience was fun! Snacks and wine and great conversations all night. My husband was reluctant to try eggplant and Carmen changed his mind. Don’t miss this class! You won’t leave hungry!

Chef Carmen not only delivered an incredible lesson to family and friends, but the quality of the instruction and food was beyond compare. I'm a good cook but she revamped the way we look at a number of key approaches and cooking styles and did it with fun and interest in all of her "pupils." We made pasta, cooked prepared and cooked eggplant parmigiana - the right way - and learned the best Bolognese sauce, all while drinking wine and prosecco. Then we wait it. Oh, and the Tiramisu was incredible. Book it today!

One of the best days of my study year abroad in Italy!! I visited Sorrento with a group of friends and we new we had to do a cooking course. Finding the amazing Carmen and her cooking school was the most fun we’ve ever had drinking, eating yummy food and singing our hearts out to Abba. 100% recommend to anyone looking to make memories of a lifetime and making a great friends with Carmen (Chefs kiss) Xx

This virtual cooking class was a delightful experience and we made some delicious food! Chef Carmen was charming and informative about the individual recipes, ingredients and local food culture. She patiently answered all our questions and let each student work at their own pace. My favorite part (besides eating the great food!) was learning some new cooking techniques that I will certainly use moving forward. The virtual meeting connection worked perfectly and it felt like our group of ten was in the kitchen with Chef Carmen. We will definitely do this again!
