On a monday off-season I would have expected the traffic to be reasonable, but it was overcrowded! I am used to crowded areas but this was really too much, actually dangerous with scooters, buses, bikes, and people on the street. Nowhere to park or stop to enjoy the views. I would not recommend to visit the road by car in... More

Yes, this is definitely a scenic drive. Blue waters, steep cliffs, mountain side towns, harbors... However, for us, all of that was undercut by the hoards of people and by the driving conditions. It was hard to relax and take in the views; too many distractions. The term "loved to death" comes to mind. Although the big tour busses played... More

What a road ! Breathtaking views beautiful towns and villages and absolutely crazy locals over taking you on blind corners ! Think I enjoyed the driving as much as any other part of the experience, I had a weeks driving experience in Italy and we were staying in the hills so I'd done my Italian driving apprenticeship. It truly is... More

Rode a scooter from Naples and was so worth it. Views are unreal, had to stop multiple times to enjoy. Take a day trip or multiple nights. So local as well, great places to stop and eat.

If you can while in the area drive on this coast , it is really worth it . I found Amalfi very nice , Ravello and Positano exquisite .

We were traveling with another couple and wanted to do the drive. As part of our package we had a Fiat "upgraded" car (so slightly larger than what i'd call a compact car), so we drove the coast ourselves. Started in Sorrento from our hotel, and stopped in Positano, Amalfi, and Revello. Spectacular views, cant say enough about that. The... More

It is well worth the drive along the beautiful coast . Just be mindful of the traffic and narrow road. In a van was not easy but do able. A few closing my eyes moments .

You have to pass this road by bus, as we did (from Sorrento to Amalfi), in order to really enjoy the picturesque views it offers. The distance is 35-40 km but it took us 1.5 hours with just a couple of stops. It is a little crazy experience - narrow to very narrow at places; many turns / U-turns where... More
