Stayed in Sorrento in May 2012 as part of a 11 day tour of Italy. Walked to this hotel overlooking the bay with our guide one late afternoon. We got to enjoy the beautiful views of the bay, the marinas, and surrounding landscape of the Amalfi coast while sipping on complimentary champagne. The next day we got to traverse the... More

We visited on an organised half board package as a couple, staying in a three star hotel in Sorrento. In October all the main attractions were packed with mainly English tourists. The food in most tourist outlets and our hotel were very average. We were after authentic Italian cooking but were very disappointed in most cases. I am not sure... More

While in Sorrento you wouldn't want to miss walking to the high cliffs and survey the Bay of Naples. You can see all the little boats and Naples far away

We walked ashore after docking and were surrounded by taxi drivers offering trip. We walked as far as the main road and went back. It was dirty and very disappointing. I am sure the area would have been lovely if we had taken a tour but if we went again I would stay on board. Most of the tours require... More

We stayed i Naples to visit Pompeii and Sorrento. Naples is not a nice place and couldnt wait to leave there. The Bay of Naples was included in a tour we did of Pompeii the bay is lovely (we went early morning) and very calming to see.

Visited Naples on the last day of our holiday, we took the Hydrofoil in from Sorrento and walked around the city but as I have already mentioned we had an attempted robbery by a person on a scooter. The area was Corso Garibaldi about 200 yards from Piazza Garibaldi. Luckily enough he did get my gold chain an pendant but... More

My wife and I used Naples in August as a base to visit Pompeii and the Amalfi coast. What a dump. Hotel we stayed in was opposite a market full of wheeler dealers, prostitutes. Litter strewn everywhere. A very dirty city. I will never visit there again. The only good thing was we were close to the train station and... More

Beware of Taxis, especially the official ones they won't use the meter provided and also drop you off 'near' your location saying its a few metres when it isn't. Avoid Cafe Rosita at all costs, argumentative and aggressive staff The best thing about Naples is leaving and the fact you can get to Capri from there, Capri is well worth... More

All the other reviews are right - it is an amazingly dirty place which feels dangerous because it is. However it houses some of the most magnificent jewels of history. Yet why let these things stay in a place that those who live there cannot be bothered to keep clean and cover in graffiti? The taxi drivers deserve special mention... More
