Very small and cute Italian village with amazing medieval structures still in place. We arrived during some festive days in the town center and everything was so alive and packed with people, it felt awesome. Bear mind that the city center is pedestrian, no cars allowed, so try to plan your parking before you get there. Try the one on... More

Small historic town on Abruzzo hills, where past and present are combined in a perfect mix. The most important thing in Atri is the main square where the theater and church meet creating a unique and romantic place. The Church, Basilica of Santa Maria Assunta is an astonishing monument that is free to be visited. The Theatre is a jump... More

As you enter Atri there are very ugly blocks of flats and you wonder why a visit was suggested. Once in the Centro Storico it becomes clear. An attractive small town to do a bit of grocery shopping and have a coffee but before doing this you must see the Frescoes in the Cathedral and that shuts at noon. (Re-opens... More

We visited this beautiful town on a sunny afternoon in September. We parked in the square outside the information office and were given a very helpful map. The town is relatively small and so we could walk to all the attractions, mostly churches, with ease. The town is very quaint, with small cobbled roads barely big enough for a car... More

It is a very beautiful city in the hills.... We had a lovely lunch and a nice cream in the square and the most amazing sweet shop .... Well worth a visit. The cathedral had the most amazing frescos and further down the hill were beautiful sculptures overlooking the hills.... Great views of the mountains.... 30 minutes by car from... More

The Cathedral in Piazza Duomo is worth a visit. Stop for an aperitif in one of bars in the square. Take a walk along Corso Elio Adriano with its shops and characteristic streets. There are fabulous views from the panoramic road of Viale delle Clarisse.

Atri is a lovely little place. We've visited it twice. On the first occasion we had a wonderful meal in a restaurant in the square then a gelato in a bar just off the square. The second time we had a drink and an ice cream in a bar in the square. There was a nice atmosphere with lots of... More

.... has it's own beauty. Not twee like some of the places manicured in Italy, it is small but lovely town set high up in Abruzzo (Teramo province). By day you need to spend a little time walking around the little quaint back streets and view the loved potted plants that adorn the steps of the peoples houses, then perhaps... More

It is a small historical town, with not much to do in it. the views from the town are nice, but I wouldn't recommend getting here just for that. You can pass this one.
