I've decided to write this review in english because I've noticed there are just a few details here on tripadvisor for foreign tourists. The access to the caves is either through a cable way (mind this if you're afraid of heights) or by walking. We took the cable way which was included in a ticket package of 20 euros (13... More

The experience of the Grotte del Cavallone includes a steep climb in a little green cage up the mountain, and a significant hike up to the mouth of the caves. Be prepared with comfortable clothes and sneakers or hiking boots if you have them. The caves are incredible and our guide was friendly and knowledgable. It's unlike anything I've ever... More

I was in the Grotte about 40 years ago, as a teenager, when there was no cable-way and we walked all the way up... The cable-way ride takes about 20 minutes, suspended above beautiful trees and amazing rock formations.... More

Well worth and safe visit. Beautiful views of the valley from the 20 min ride in the cable car, and long cave visit. Good food at the restaurant at the top.

It took along time, along winding roads through mountain villages to reach the lower cable car station at Grotte del Cavallone and our first visit was disappointing because we had innappropriate footwear and the weather turned thundery and the cable car closed. We made a return visit two days later hoping for better conditions, (if you decide to go take walking... More

The longest cable car ride I've ever had and the views are simply amazing. Be prepared for a steep climb and lots of steps from the cable car top station to the entrance of the cave and again within the cave. At 40 Euros for two of us, it was perhaps a little expensive but we'd happily pay it again... More
