It was always busy during Fallas Festival so we went twice when it was less busy. Very homey compared to the larger Cathedral. Heard a homily by the priest and there were lots of worshippers attending.

Lovely to sit here and people watch but restaurants are overpriced and keen to move you on if you only want a drink.

It is located next to the Cathedral at the Virgin square. The building is small and simple from outside, inside there are a lot of decoration. Worth visiting it.

This Baroque style basilica w/ blue tiled dome was built between 1652-67 and is located right next to the Cathedral in the historic center of Valencia. The 1st Baroque construction was originally built for the noble disabled but later incl. the homeless, elderly and mentally ill. The colorful exterior has 5 entrances but the door near the archway connecting the... More

This building looks very plain from the outside but the inside is a different story. It is relatively small but it is ornate with lots of gilding and decorations. It is definitely worth a look after the cathedral to see the marked difference.

Well worth a visit to this very beautiful Basilica. There are several Masses every day and two in the evenings.

Plaza de la Virgen and Basilica de la Virgen de los Desamparados. Of course the Cathedral of Valencia is magnificent and Miguelete Bell Tower is superb but do not miss this Basilica. It is so richly decorated. Go in and enjoy its beauty!

Worth a look. This is the basilica where the statue of the Virgin is kept. She is central to the Fallas fiesta in March.

Particular Church, to central plant with asymmetric dome located right in the main square of Valencia. It's the usual background of all major cultural and religious events that take place in the city. Honestly I found very uninteresting when compared to other churches of Valencia. It's worth visiting because it's right downtown, but you should not have high expectations and... More
