This former Chapter House was built between 1356-69 and is part of the beautiful cathedral located in the heart of the historic center of Valencia. The square Gothic style chapel features a fine looking alabaster stone altarpiece by Giuliano Poggibonsi from 1424 w/ 12 reliefs illustrating the Old & New Testament fronting the niched display case containing the Santo Caliz... This is a must see in Valencia. Climb the tower to get a birds eye view of the city and make sure to visit the museum.

For many tourists/pilgrims, the "Capilla del Santo Caliz” is the main reason for visiting the Cathedral. It houses what the Roman Catholic Church recognizes as the "Blessed Cup" used by Jesus when he celebrated the Last Supper. Is it the real one? Many theories exist on the final location of the Holy Grail. If this one is good enough for... More

This chapel is part of the Valencia Cathedral. We could state the obvious that Christ was highly unlikely to have had a golden challis at the last super but that would just take away from the story around this grail.

thankfully a wedding was taking place while we were at the chapel of the holy grail, which allowed us to get very close to the grail. Newly weds are allowed to have photos taken as they stand in front of it so we were just one of the guests!!

Another beautiful Spanish church we viewed the " Grail " and marveled at the Cardinals hats hanging from the ceiling as the Cardinals drifted up to heaven.

Although the chapel is small and simpleitis worth the visit. When you have read Dan Brown's book you should go and see the grail. It is smaller than I thought. Some times there are meetings of tempeliers, these are verry impressive.

Hundreds of years and thousands of people were looking for this Holy Grail, and it was here in Valencia (almost) all the time...
