A lovely square at any time of day or night. Lots of cafes to enjoy a beer or coffee - sitting outside opposite Cathedral and Basilica. Some cafes more geared to tourists than others. One in extreme left corner (if looking at Cathedral) seems cheaper and one with huge tree is pleasant. None of them are great for good value... More

I visited this venue as part of a walking tour. It is steeped in history and there is stunning architecture to see.

We sat here and watched the world go by on a Sunday afternoon. There were a lot of others doing the same and there was plenty to watch as it really is a bustling large square. Lots of nice buildings around it and as we were there during Fallas there was also a very large Virgin Mary structure there too.

One stop shopping for all kinds of activities in central Valencia.. Tapas ,churches, people watching and shopping to name a few. Explore the quaint side streets and take a short stroll to the Mercado.

We visited the Plaza just after the Festival of the Virgin. The huge monument covered in flowers was still in the square. Much of the ground was strewn with flowers. Facing into the plaza is the Basilica of the Virgin with it's amazing painted dome, one of the entrances to the huge cathedral, the fountain celebrating the irrigation canals that... More

Really a place to watch the people. Beautiful fountain and plenty of bars. Good place to relax and central to a lot of other sights.

A very lovely plaza surrounded by the Basilica, the Cathedral, shops and restaurants, and includes a fountain. We were here during Fallas and watched the start of the parade from here. It was able to hold hundreds of visitors and while it was busy, you still were ably to walk freely around. Great place for a coffee or meal and to catch the... More

Pretty square in the center of Valencia, perfect to have a seat, catch some sunshine and and watch the world go by. It is always busy and full of people. There are many attractions in the vicinity as well, such as Valencia Cathedral and the Central Market.

During Las Fallas this square is simply stuffed with flowers. You can get there by sense of smell alone! Awesome inspiring floral decorations are kept in the square near to the church.

Like most of Valencia, Plaza de la Virgen is unusual and well worth a visit. I was fortunate to be staying nearby and strolled through every morning
