We visited the National Underwater Museum more or less by accident when visiting Cartagena as we parked pretty well beside it. After seeing several other nearby attractions, we decided to fill our remaining time in Cartagena by visiting this museum, not really knowing what to...More

During certain holidays it opens for free. It had a lot of signs with information, sometimes a little too much! Interesting pieces like the Phoenician boat, the information about and the salvaged coins from shipwrecks (especially the Nuestra Señora de las Mercedes ship). It’s worth...More

This museum inside and out is a must see while in Cartagena. Thanks to the relics from a Spanish galleon on display here it makes a centerpiece for the underwater theme...well done!

Easy 90 minutes to two hours to visit the museum. Many interesting displays of Spanish Naval history. Very inexpensive.

Near the waterfront and cruise terminal, this modern museum has exhibits that show the importance of Cartagena as a port through the ages. Cross-sections of ships to show how the cargo was stowed, and miniature dioramas of the city through the ages were my favorites....More

Although we enjoyed our visit compared to other museums this one is lacking artefacts. There is lots of information which is easy on the eye, and there are one or two hands on things for adults and children, but if I had taken any children...More
