Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

On this street which leads to Puerta del Sol, one can find one of the best Tapas places in Madrid. The King of Jamon. Order your beer and receive a tapas sandwich with it. You can order many different kinds of tapas or plates of food.. You can eat at the bar like the locals or go upstairs to the seating area. A must to really feel like a local. There are more places like this one scattered in central Madrid.

This street runs between the Puerta del Sol and the Plaza de las Cortes and is one of a myriad of streets and alleys that we walked while in Madrid. There are many delightful buildings to be found here. Restaurants, cafes, bars and shops aplenty. Two of the oldest businesses in the city are located here; Casa Mira dating to 1842 and famous for cakes, desserts, turron (a type of nougat containing nuts) and marzipan. The other establishment is Lhardy, an upscale restaurant that opened in 1839.
You can spend an hour here, but you can also spend a day just browsing, enjoying a coffee at some of the cafes, indulging your sweet tooth, or just people watching.

There are so many cool streets in Madrid and Carrera De San Jeronimo is a street typical of the type of streets to be found in this part of town.
We walked out onto it from leaving Puerta Del Sol ( roughly ) architecture is nice, its central location ensures its busy and there's some great pubs ,bars and restaurants not just along the street but also the streets and plaza's along Carrera De San Jeronimo.
Well worth checking out if your in the area.

Carrera de San Jeronimo is a nice street which goes back a long time. Its history is quite long, a few hundred years or so. There are several good cafes, bars and restaurants there as well as other lovely shops. Worth walking along this street and having a relaxing time.

Constant Companion and I were still dealing with jet lag but this procession is the most popular of Semana Santa in Madrid. It is viewed by tens of thousands of Madrileños so it is crucial that you arrive early. The procession begins at the Basilica of Jesus de Medinaceli @ 19:00 and continues to Carrera de Jeronimo where it passes in front of the Congress of Deputies. From there it journeys to Puerto del Sol, back to Calle de Alcala, on to Plaza de Cibeles, and the returns to the Basilica. If you decide to attend you will get a good view of the 17th century carving of Jesus Nazareno de Medinaceli, which was taken by Spanish soldiers in 1682-the first year of the procession. This was a real treat. So glad these we were in attendance!

I arrived Madrid by train at Puerto del Sol, walked passed by Rua Carrera. Rua Carrera is a busy street with restaurants and shops.

Carrera de San Jeronimo is street that runs between Puerta Del Sol and Plaza de las Cortes in central Madrid. It is quite busy with fellow pedestrians and traffic for the first few hundred metres east of Puerta Del Sol but then the pedestrian traffic, at least, thins out.

Most interesting, this street passes through the small Plaza De Canalejas, where you can see some interesting buildings like Casa de Allende and Edificio Meneses.

At the eastern end, Carrera de San Jeronimo merges with Calle Del Prado until it runs into Pasea Del Prado at Plaza De Canovas Del Castillo. There is a nice Neptune fountain and you will be in the vicinity of Madrid's most important museums like Thyssen-Bornemisza and Prado.

In the end, the is the most direct walking route for those making their way between Puerto Del Sol and Paseo Del Prado. You see some interesting buildings along the way and pass numerous restaurants, bars, cafes and some shops as well.

The Carrera de San Jeronimo runs between the Puerta del Sol and the Plaza de las Cortes. The street is only half a kilometer long, so it is an easy walk to get to the Puerta del Sol. There are many interesting buildings on the street.

It starts at the Puerta del Sol and ends at the Plaza de Kas Cortes, near the shabby Neptune Fountain.
There are fashion stores, bars, cafes.
There is an outpatient clinic.
Located in the heart of Madrid, much more beautiful at night.
But it's a little dangerous, there are a lot of drunks.
