Had the pleasure of staying at an air bnb in Barrio Salamanca. We absolutely loved the area. It was quaint and had a variety of restaurants and boutiques. We walked everywhere. Wished we could've stayed longer. Great neighborhood.

My wife and I had several walks around this Barrio and for the first time visited the Archeological Museum on Serrano. There are also some very nice boutiques opposite and you can then visit the impressive Puerta de Alcala and Parque Del Retiro. This is...More

We took a walk around Barrio de Salamanca, it was much quieter than the touristy areas with some fine architecture and up market shops. If you have time and just enjoy walking it's worth a visit, served by several metro stations.

Everyone knows this is the best part of the city. Safe, good restaurants. Wasn't a day or so before we were eating dinner at 10pm just like the Spanish. Except we don't chain smoke!

Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights
frame the neighbourhood of Barrio Salamanca. With
beautiful condominium buildings that make up most
blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and
quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large
shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle
Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will
