Top ways to experience Jardines de Sabatini
The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.

Very beautiful and quite large gardens at the foot of the Royal Palace. An oasis of nature and tranquility in the center of Madrid. It has plenty of benches to sit and relax, fountains, great trees and a marvelous view of the Royal Palace. The name does not come from its creator, but from the architect who designed the stables that used to be in this place. Amazing place to have a walk and enjoy the nature in the heart of the city.

Small but good gardens located to the side of the Royal Palace enroute to the Plaza de Espana and the Temple of Debod. There are some small fountains and some nice paths. Well worth a 30 minute visit.

The Jardines de Sabatini is a public garden adjacent to the Royal Palace of Madrid. Built in the neoclassical style, the gardens were named in honour of Francesco Sabatini, an Italian architect of the 18th century who contributed largely to the design of the Royal Palace. The gardens has been laid out in symmetric geometrical patterns, adorned with a pool, statues and fountains, almost like an Italian garden.

The gardens are a perfect resting spot from the intense searing heat of the Madrid summers. Offer spectacular views of the North façade of the Royal Palace, it's a well maintained gardens with a mini mazes, trimmed hedges sculptures and plenty of benches to enjoy the tranquility.

The Sabatini Gardens and were opened to the public in 1978.

The gardens have a formal Neo-Classic style, similar to a lot of the architecture within Madrid.

Consisting of well-sheared hedges and in geometrical patterns, with several statues, fountains and numerous leafy walkways make this a pleasant, 2-3 hour visit.

Much smaller than the Retiro Parc, these gardens are located on the side of the Royal Palace. Elegant and quiet, they are fit for their position in the city.

If I am not mistaken this garden ir right behind de palacio real, and they are certainly fit for royalty. Artfully designed and very well maintained, a nice place to take a leisurely stroll or simply sit and relax for a while, certainly a good spot for pictures. There are a number of statues surrounding the central square in the garden along with benches located right underneath the shadow of the trees. I really liked this place and recommend to visit while you are in the area.

The Sabatini Gardens are quite beautiful. I stopped there to rest from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Wow. Next to the Royal palace are beautiful gardens called The Sabatini Gardens which are part of the palace. They were opened to the public by King Juan Carlos I in 1978. We walked around those before making our way to the “Temple De Debod” which is an ancient Egyptian temple that was rebuilt in Madrid! I loved the bakeries in Madrid with all their freshly baked treats. The dog-walking made me smile as locals all around us were walking their pets down such historical streets.

Some of the best views of the royal palace come from the top of the steps at the East side of these gardens. The views make great photos but be careful if you sit on the wall as it is a long drop. The gardens are better seen from above than climbing down to the bottom of the steps.

We spent about 20 minutes in the garden. From the palace you are overlooking the trees and you don't realize how tall they are until you take the stairs down to the garden. The trees are manicured beautifully, and the garden was laid out nicely.
