Enjoyed visiting the Cathedral. It's recommended to give a €1 donation to enter. The decor is beautiful and not the "typical" decor of a Cathedral. The Crypt is more classic, but very beautiful!

I visited the cathedral whilst I was visiting the Royal Palace. The cathedral is impressive both inside and out, and is free to visit although a 1 or 2 Euro donation is greatly appreciated.

The cathedral forms an architectural ensemble with the adajacent Royal Palace that is quite unique and makes for excellent photography and its elegant neo-gothic architecture is in marked contrast to the gothic of baroque splendour you would expect from a catholic church. The inside is airy and uncluttered and also well-lit so photography is not a problem. There is a... More

This was the Cathedral that complimented the Royal Palace in Madrid which gave me a sort of mini Vatican experience because it is home of the Archbishop of Madrid. One of Madrid's must sees in conjunction with the Royal Palace.

Because Madrid's Cathedral is relatively modern in European terms it has all sorts of interesting features to enjoy. AND make sure you also go to the fabulous Crypt at the back of the Cathedral.

We thought this Cathedral was really lovely, modern & full of colour. The sun shone through the stained glass windows making colourful patterns everywhere that & the unusual coloured ceiling made it very different from other Cathedrals.

We went to this Cathedral expecting something special, but was a bit disappointed it was very modern, but got better when you went inside. The stain glass windows were beautiful and some were what you call Pop Art, but fitted in well. It was nice to walk through the cathedral and see all the statues and crypt. Next to the... More

It would be easy to overlook the cathedral when visiting the royal palace next door. That would be a mistake, because the cathedral itself is well worth the visit. It is unusual in that it isn't particularly old and therefore the interior decor is interesting and not what you would perhaps expect. It's real asset, though, is the view from... More

This cathedral is modest by Spanish standards of Salamanca and Seville but impressive nonetheless. Went for a visit after seeing the Palace and was amazed to attend mass. Of course it was in Spanish but it was awesome. A must see in Madrid I feel.
