This is where the theaters and shows are all situated, so if you are a theater or opera buff this is the place to stay, the shopping is very good as well also loads of places to eat and drink
This is one the main thoroughfares in Madrid. So many pretty buildings and architecture. My husband and I took an open top hop on hop off city tour. Comes with audio that narrates and explains the buildings you're looking at.

Gran Via literally translates to a broad way. This is the Spanish broadway…lots of theater, great eats, and lively atmosphere. The heart of Madrid!
I don't even know why someone would think of 'rating' a street. I mean, other than walking Grand Via to get to, say, Retiro Park, or a restaurant, it's pretty much just a big, wide, long road. Not much to see here.
