Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed at the Puerta de Toledo two nights pre and post tour. As other travellers have said, we found the front staff very efficient and accommodating. When information about our day tour of Madrid was sketchy, the staff made sure that the company knew we were there and the time we were to be picked up. They were very informative with suggestions as to where too eat etc.
No issues with the room except with temperature. We found this to be the case in most of the rooms on our trip. At a certain point they must turn the air con off and we found the rooms rather warm to sleep.
Breakfast was satisfactory and maybe an area that could use some attention.
Location is within walking distance of the centre of Madrid albeit about an hour long.

One of the remaining gates in Madrid and that at the time was part of the wall that surrounded the center of the capital. It was erected in the first third of the 19th century in honor of the ill-fated King Ferdinand VII for his return to Spain at the end of the War of Independence. It is neoclassical in style and should be known and admired

Toledo gate is in the middle of Toledo Plaza and is very triumphant and interesting. I recommend driving or waking by.

One of the five triumphal arches in Madrid It is close to the Toledo Bridge and is slightly away from the center and major attractions. Not worth a special visit.

Certainly one of those monuments worth seen while you are passing by on your way to the Atletico de Madrid's stadium. It is a good idea to stop here for a few minutes and take a couple of nice pictures.

This is a triumphal arch in Madrid. It was built in the 19th century during the French occupation. It is just a beautiful gateway with symbols that represent Spain.

Just a great sight to see if you are close. Wouldn't say that it's worth it to go out your way to go visit it, but if you are nearby it's definently worth it.

Travelled to Toledo from Madrid via Renfe railroad. Cost for two adult returns 41 euros. Be advised to book your train in advance as once the train is full the company stops selling tickets (unlike many countries - the UK for instance - which allows standing room, Renfe does not. So once all seats are sold you have to wait for the next available train).

Toledo is picturesque with a medieval flavour - close together houses and narrow streets. You can walk it in about 3 hours - so an afternoon visit is plenty of time.
Cathedral is a hefty 12 euros 50cents (with headphones) each adult to enter - you can enter and get a flavour of it with paying, though.

Marzipan shops abound, but can be expensive.

This is one of the most impressive arches in Madrid however it is a bit out of the way so I suggest come on a Sunday and spend an hour or two in the Flee Market located about 500 metres West of here in La Latina.

Puerta de Toledo is smaller than the Puerta Alcala and not as impressive.

Again it is located on a roundabout, the tour bus will go past but this is the smaller historical gate to the city.
