There 2 main routes and the cover all the major tourist attractions. The commentary is also good. Although bare in mind that the bus does not take you close to Gaudi park as it's on a hill top. You have to walk all the way to it.

This tour is a MUST DO if you are interested in combining history with food. We had the best guide, Andreis, who was a font of knowledge about Madrid history. The tour lasted 2 1/2 hours and we walked at a slow pace through Madrid Old Town and in between visited some Tapas Bars and sampled delicious foods and wines/ports.... More

This Madrid bus tour was good for our family, which can't walk that far and wanted to reduce the money spent on taxis. They had deep discounts for seniors and friendly staff. The commentary was available in a dozen languages, which was impressive, but we were disappointed that it focussed overwhelmingly on architecture and very little on history or other... More

I was one day in Madrid. the city tours are a good way to see the most of the city. but it is not so easy to find the bus stops once you go down. so in the end I was walking all Madrid. you also can use the metro. very easy to get from a place to place.

Wow I was impressed just how frequent these buses ran and till the late evening (it was August). two days was 25 euros per person and we used the buses all the time to get around Madrid. Staff really helpful when we asked how to get places and recommended local places to eat (not tourist).

We were quite pleased with Madrid City Tours and used it often during our visit. The price is right, and the service is most convenient, especially when attempting to learn about a city as demanding and beautiful as Madrid. The seating is catch as catch can and really not too comfortable. There are two sections one is enclosed, while the... More

I was travelling with a 1 year old baby and while I was on the rooftop, trying to settle her my ticket flew away. Although staff had checked my ticket when I first got on the bus, they refused re-issue the ticket, which meant that I couldn't get on the next bus once I got off. They were quite rude... More

The info is interesting to hear when the driver or two cite taker doesn't interrupt to inform about the stop. Unfortunately, the guide doesn't pause, so info is lost. A patch to hang purses or bags would be nice.

Staying in Paseo del Prado

Neighbourhood Profile
Paseo del Prado
The area around the elegant Paseo del Prado boulevard is much-visited by both locals and tourists. The world-famous Prado, the Reina Sofia, and the Thyssen-Bornemisza museums form a triangle of art and culture that spans this grand and beautiful avenue. On weekdays, the Prado Museum opens its doors for free after-work hours, drawing a diverse and excited queue of art lovers that wraps around the block. Palacio de Cibeles and Círculo de Bellas Artes cultural centers are other artsy hangouts to check out, with rooftop bars that provide impressive views of the city. While the Paseo del Prado and its roundabouts form a busy throughway in Madrid, a broad green pedestrian park in the middle is a calm and gorgeous place for a relaxing stroll. Just east of the museums, the Retiro Park is always a confluence of activity as families and friends of all ages take to the pretty paths and lawns to stretch their legs or to have a picnic.
