My wife and I chose the red bus tour because you can hop on and off the bus. The 2 day ticket is great value for €25. The red bus tour offers 2 lines. Line 1 is historic Madrid and line 2 is modern Madrid. We spent our first day travelling around historic Madrid stopping at many of the attractions.... More

I wish this was the first purchase/to-do when I got to Madrid. There are 2 routes. A modern Madrid route and an old Madrid route. I did the old Madrid route. It hits the tourist spots and you can get off and explore if you like. Did the full loop which takes about 1.5 hours to get a lay of... More

The bus was nice. The staff were nice. The problem is that this company had obviously sold far more tickets than they had capacity for and didn't stop selling. We couldn't get on the first bus that arrived at the first stop on the historical route. We squeezed on the second, standing room only or a seat at the back... More

Bought our ticket, then waited 40 minutes for bus, got on bus, no seats and no place to put earphones to listen to commentary. Then an announcement to say commentary not working! Go off at plaza mayor, then went back to get on - waited 50 minutes, three yellow buses passed in that time. There was no apology, people were... More

Saw bad reviews. Thought is may have just been a bad time of year. WRONG. Waited 40 min, said the location was closed and had to go up the street behind the building. Went there. Waited another 20 min. Bus pulls up across busy street and only has room for 3 people. They say bus another bus will be there... More

Tour number 1 gives you a highlight of the old Madrid in an hour and a half. You can hop on and off as you wish and the ticket is good for one day. Pros: good audio commentary. Cons: don't plan on taking great photos since the bus is moving and it is difficult to get a good angle. Still... More

I'm writing this from the bus that we waited over 40 minutes for. There are no seats so we are standing and can't listen to the commentary so this is basically worthless. They are letting so many people on to stand and it's a horrible experience. Wish I had listened to the reviews. Don't do it.

Dear Client, Thank you for sharing your opinion. Unfortunately the frequency of our buses may be affected by factors which are out of our control, like the traffic conditions. It is possible that peaks in the occupancy of our buses happen due to high customers demand. We apologise for the inconveniences and we hope that they didn´t spoiled your trip.... More

Found commentary to be super boring. Some of the routes we found to be of no interest. Wait times were longer than expected and rather confusing. Some buses would stop at regular bus stops but not pick up at the same spot. Would not recommend.

Staying in Paseo del Prado

Neighbourhood Profile
Paseo del Prado
The area around the elegant Paseo del Prado boulevard is much-visited by both locals and tourists. The world-famous Prado, the Reina Sofia, and the Thyssen-Bornemisza museums form a triangle of art and culture that spans this grand and beautiful avenue. On weekdays, the Prado Museum opens its doors for free after-work hours, drawing a diverse and excited queue of art lovers that wraps around the block. Palacio de Cibeles and Círculo de Bellas Artes cultural centers are other artsy hangouts to check out, with rooftop bars that provide impressive views of the city. While the Paseo del Prado and its roundabouts form a busy throughway in Madrid, a broad green pedestrian park in the middle is a calm and gorgeous place for a relaxing stroll. Just east of the museums, the Retiro Park is always a confluence of activity as families and friends of all ages take to the pretty paths and lawns to stretch their legs or to have a picnic.
