We took an easy stroll though the Retiro...definitely we didn't get a chance to see all of it, but it nevertheless offered a nice escape from the Madrid busy and noisy streets. There was some street musicians playing, people walking by...it's a great place to...More

A great park to walk or ride around to get some relief from the Madrid summer heat. A fairly short walk thru the rose garden to the Prado Museum

We wandered around for quite a while and found lakes and bars and museums and fountains. Fabulous place for a good trudge. Plenty of spots to eat. And its own Crystal Palace. !!

This is a beautiful park that allows you to see parts of Madrid outside the Prado. The lake has boat rentals, street musicians, refreshments, and wonderfully groomed trails. The park is huge and had wonderful fountains as well as gardens. It wasn't crowded and felt...More

My husband and I enjoyed our 2012 visit to Parque del Retiro so much that we jumped at the chance to visit again. This time we climbed the steep hill on Goya Street next to the Prado instead of approaching from the south near Atocha...More

Probably the most beautiful park, perfect in 43 degree heat. Plenty of places to have a drink and we went on a Sunday morning and listened to orchestra on bandstand.

Retiro Park is a big and very beautiful Park near Madrid centre. Make sure to use the boats in the small lake in the Park. It costs 8 Euro for 45 minutes. Retiro Park is a must do when in Madrid

I'm afraid not, you can only rent individual rowboats or go on a group boat for an hour, I believe. However there are fountains and nice shady areas around the park to keep cool from the heat!
