This one is a little out of the town centre and will need some walking to get to if you're staying down that way. It's a massive statue and one we spotted only on the way back to the airport.

A huge statue in the middle of a busy city street is a great location to celebrate the history if Vigo. Fish, fish and more fish, that's the history of this area. Well done.

Sitting at the foot of Gran Via, this monument exudes the raw power of man. Powerful, naked monsters hauling a fishing net - really unusual but fitting for Vigo, whose development was born of the sea. Vigo obviously bred some rather muscled and chiseled blokes!

Worth a look if you are in the area but not one to go out of your way for. Incorporate into one of the walking guides.

Vigo was first and foremost a fishing town. For that reason a monument to its fishing heritage seems only fitting. However I doubt that the fishermen of the past were ever that large and muscular.

This monument is in the centre of Vigo not far from the hotel I stayed in. It was very impressive to look at dedicated I think to the hard working fishermen. I couldn't find anywhere with information about Vigo and the many monuments there. Very...More
