The square is beautiful, large and centrally located - it's right in front of the cathedral. Many pilgrims arrive here, and lie down so that they can stare up at the cathedral. You'll hear bagpipes playing most of the time -- it's a holdover from...More

The architecture and square proportions make it a very special place. The surrounding buildings, and above all, the Cathedral, dwarf everything and everybody which reminds of Vatican.

Walking into this magnificent and historic square at the end of the Via Camino is one of the most emotional things I have ever done.

Can be overwhelming when the crowds gather midday. A wonderful experience watching the pilgrims arrive to their destination

Great place to wath the arrival of pilgrims who have walked to Santiago. During the evening there is often a Tuna band plaing under the arches. Surrounded by beautiful buildings all worth a visit.

It was a great experience to finish my camino by walking in to the Praza. People arriving from all Caminos and none. The fabulous cathedral and Parador overlooking it all. Street musicians and entertainers. I loved it

I visited the square on many occasions during my week-long stay in Santiago. It's good to go at different times of day because the atmosphere changes - during the day, very busy and full of bustle, and at night, very beautiful and peaceful. It's almost...More
